2. Set Up and Operation

Connection
Switch off UMM 8800 before connecting the paging station.
The transfer of the control and audio signals happens via a RJ45 cabel.
Connect the RJ 45 connector of the paging mic with the PAGING STATION 1 or 2 at the UMM 8800.
If the length of the cable exceeds 150m it can be necessary to connect the unit to a separat 24V DC power supply.
A connector is provided at the rear panel.
The CHIME selector at the rear panel you can choose between 2-, 4,- tone chime before paging or you can switch
the chime function off.
The volume of the chime signal can be adjusted with the CHIME VOL. Control While the volume of the paging
signal can be adjusted with the MIV VOL. Control.
Operation
To initiate paging select the desired zone first by pressing the zone key. If you want to talk into all zones
simultaneously press the ALL CALL key.
If the LED next to a zone key blinks orange, this zone is busy and cannot be selected.
To start paging press the TALK key
Should a paging not be possible i.e. if a second paging mic is busy or no zone has been selected the LED on top
of the TALK button will blink blue.
If paging is possible this LED will continiously light up blue and the call into the selected zones can be done.
To finish paging just relese the TALK button.
Installation of the Extension Unit UPX 8808
Connect the extension units/paging station with the supplied flat cable and put the DIP switches into the positions
shown above.
The supplied brackets allow the mechanical installation of the extension units with the paging station.
