Important Safety Instructions
Keep the unit away from heat sources, direct
sunlight, humidity, water and any other liquids. Do
not operate the unit if it has been exposed to water,
moisture or any other liquids to prevent against
electric shock, explosion and/or injury to yourself
and damage to the unit.
Do not use the unit if it has been dropped or
damaged in any way. Repairs to electrical equipment
should only be performed by qualified staff
(electricians). Improper repairs may place the user at
serious risk.
Do not use the unit with wet hands. Do not put
objects into any of the openings. Keep the unit free
from dust, lint etc. Do not use this unit for anything
other than its intended use. Keep the unit out of
reach of small children. This product is not a toy. Do
not use chemical cleaning solvents to clean. Do not
open the device. For cleaning only use soft and dry
cloth.
Getting Started
Unpack the device. Remove all packaging from the
sound level meter. Check if the device and
accessories is not damaged. You will find in the box:
sound level meter, 9V block battery, user manual,
wind protection. Open the battery door and install
9V battery into the battery compartment. Cover the
battery door. The display will indicate the battery
loading status.

health, industrial safety offices and sound quality
control in various environments which include
factory, office, traffic, family and audio systems.

Calibration
Our products are all well calibrated before shipment.
Recommended recalibration cycle: 1 year.
Please use a standard acoustic calibrator. Turn on
the calibrator and set up the status to 94dB@1KHz.
Insert the microphone carefully into the ½ inch hole
of the calibrator. Turn on the level meter and adjust
the potentiometer inside the battery compartment
of the unit (shown in the Figure 1), until the LCD
display shows the desired level (94 dB).

For standard measure mode press "ON/OFF" to
turn on the device, current sound level of the
environment will be shown on display. Press "MAX"
to lock the maximum sound level, the sound level
will be locked until a higher value appears to replace
the previous value. Press "MAX" again to go back the
standard measure mode.
Auto backlight display: the light sensor will induct
the light intensity of environment automatically,
when the light intensity is sufficient, the backlight
will be turned on automatically. LCD display light will
be adjusted according to the light intensity.
Auto power off: the device will shut off
automatically in about 10 minutes.
