USING THE HAIR TRIMMER
• Apply a little oil to the cutter set B. Retry every 10 minutes while clipping.
• Connect the mains lead to the mains supply.
• The device A is switched on when the switch is pressed to I. The sometimes audible
striking noise of varying loudness is caused by the starting torque of the AC drive. This is normal and is not a device fault.
• After use switch off the device and pull out the mains plug.
OPERATION TO PLACE THE BLADE ASSEMBLY
With the unit plugged into a specifi ed AC electrical outlet, turn the control switch to the ON position. Holding the blade assembly by the
sides, to keep fi ngers away from the cutting edge. Place the blade assembly back into position on the tongue. Press forward to lock into
place. Latching is automatically.
TO REMOVE THE BLADE ASSEMBLY
Unplug the electric cord and turn the control switch (A) to the OFF position.
Hold the unit in one hand. Grasp the cutting end of the blade assembly and snap it back and away from the clipper. Unlatching is auto-
matically. Slide the blade assembly forward and up off the clipper.
REMOVING DIRT AND HAIR
Occasionally, dirt and hair will lodge between the blade and comb, forcing them apart and stopping the cutting action. Remove the blade
assembly, as described above.
Push the blade sideways from its position under the metal clip. Remove the dirt and hair. Then, slide the blade back into position.
NOTE: There is no need to remove the screws on the tension spring when removing dirt and hair.
REPLACING THE BRUSHES
Turn the control switch (A) to Off-position and unplug unit from electrical outlet.
CAUTION: To prevent an electrical hazard, unit must be unplugged before replacing brushes!
Remove screw. Grasp the housing above and below the control switch. Carefully pull the two housing halves apart.
Remove one of the brass caps. Use caution, as spring may have a tendency to fl y out. Lift out spring and brush. Check to see if brush is
worn. Compare the old brush with a new one. If the old brush is worn more than ¾ of the way down, remove old brush. Slip spring onto
replacement brush.
Place assembled spring/brush into brush holder. So that brush goes in fi rst. While compressing spring into brush holder, snap brass
cap back onto unit.
Repeat procedure for second brush.
Carefully slide the housing back into position. ( it may be necessary to hold the cord while replacing the lower housing.)
Re-install screw and rubber cap. Do not over tighten screw. If your brushes are good, but the unit still does not run, return it to your
nearest dealer.
NOTE: The unit may run rough for the fi rst few minutes, until the brushes have worn in.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by your dealer or a qualifi ed electrician in order to avoid a hazard
