zuletzt auch der Car-Audio-Händler und deren Anregungen. Der Auxgate® USC (Universal
Signal Converter) ist der ideale Signalaufbereiter für Radios ohne Vorverstärker-Ausgänge, an
die eine Audio-Endstufe und weitere Peripheriegeräte angeschlossen werden sollen. Es ist spe-
ziell für den Einsatz in Fahrzeugen mit fest eingebautem (OEM) Autoradio konzipiert.
Natürlich kann der USC auch mit handelsüblichen Autoradios betrieben werden. Eine
Adapterlinie ermöglicht den Anschluss an mehr als 500 Fahrzeugtypen - ohne aufwändige
Verkabelungsarbeiten. Bitte lesen Sie vor der Installation und
Inbetriebnahme des Gerätes diese Anleitung sorgfältig durch
und vermeiden Sie so Bedienfehler. Im Zweifelsfall wenden Sie
sich an einen Fachhändler.
BESTIMMUNGSGEMÄßER GEBRAUCH
Das Auxgate® ist ausschließlich für den Betrieb im KFZ am 12V
-Bordnetz, am Original-Lautsprecher-Kabelbaum sowie mit
Original i-sotec Adapterkabeln vorgesehen. Andere
Adapterkabel können das Auxgate® beschädigen.
A INSTALLATION
Aus Sicherheitsgründen muss das Gerät fest im Fahrzeug installiert
werden. Wir empfehlen, das Gerät z.B. mit Klettband oder
Schrauben an einem geeigneten Untergrund zu befestigen.
Lieferumfang
Der Auxgate® USC wird mit folgendem Zubehör geliefert:

A.1. ANSCHLUSS
Der Auxgate® USC wird mittels des i-sotec ISO-Adapters direkt
an das OEM-Radio angeschlossen. Bei Fahrzeugtypen ohne ISO
Anschluss, wird zusätzlich ein fahrzeugspezifischer Adapter
benötigt. Überprüfen Sie bitte anhand der i-sotec Fahrzeugliste im Internet (www.i-
sotec.com), ob Sie für Ihr Fahrzeug einen zusätzlichen Adapter benötigen. Der Anschluss an
die Audio-Endstufe erfolgt über Standard Cinch-Kabel (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten).
A1.1 Einbau
Prüfen Sie zuerst, ob Ihr Radio Diebstahlcode gesichert ist. Vergewissern Sie sich, den Zugriff
auf den Code zu haben, andernfalls lässt sich das Radio nach der Installation nicht mehr nut-
zen. Entnehmen Sie jetzt das Radio aus dem Radioschacht, umdie rückseitigen Anschlüsse zu
erreichen. Hat Ihr Originalradio einen ISO Anschluss, finden Sie folgende zwei Stecker, die sich
nach Zusammendrücken der seitlichen Verriegelung vom Radio entfernen lassen:
ISO-Stecker für den Lautsprecheranschluss (Bild 1)
Dieser Stecker ( ISO-Lautsprecherstecker) hat eine Verriegelung mittig an der schmalen Seite
des üblicherweise braunen Kunststoff-Gehäuses. Darin finden sich die anzuschließenden
Lautsprecherkabel, die i.d.R. grau und weiß-farbig sind.Die Farbkodierungen der
Kabel können variieren.

ISO-Stecker für den Stromanschluss (Bild 2)
Dieser Stecker ( ISO-Stromstecker) hat die Verriegelung nicht mittig an der
schmalen Seite des Steckers angeordnet. Der Stecker ist i.d.R. aus schwarzem
Kunststoff mit üblicherweise einem rote, einem schwarzem, einem gelbes sowie weite-
ren farbigen Kabel.Die Gegenstücke dazu sind die ISO-Kupplungen (Bild 3).
Diejenige für den Lautsprecheranschluss (ISO-Lautsprecherkupplung) lässt sich nur mit
den passenden ISO-Lautsprechersteckern verbinden. Die entsprechende Nut mittig an
der schmalen Seite der Kupplung stellt dies sicher. Die ISO-Stromkupplung lässt sich
ebenfalls nur mit den passenden ISO-Stromsteckern verbinden. Auch hier stellt eine Nut
seitlich an der schmalen Seite der Kupplung dies sicher. Bei den meisten Radios sind die
Kupplungen direkt im Gehäuse als „Steckdosen" integriert. Die Stromversorgung zum
Auxgate® USC wird über eine weiße Stromkupplung (System Connector) am i-sotec
Kabelbaum gewährleistet, auf dessen Seite die Sicherung sitzt. Der System Connector
beinhaltet 4 Leitungen - gelb/schwarz für Stromversorgun, blau für „Remote out" und
ISO-Stromkupplung am Stromadapter (Bild 4)
rosa für „Telefon–Mute in".
A.1.2 Überblick: Anschlussprinzip
Diese Darstellung zeigt, wie das Auxgate® USC mit den
Komponenten in Ihrem Fahrzeug verbunden wird. Folgende
Schritte sind hierfür notwendig:
1. System Connector (1a) und die High level Input Kupplung (1b)
am Auxgate® anschließen.
2. Den ISO-Lautsprecherstecker (braun) des USC-Kabelbaums mit
der ISO-Lautsprecherkupplung des Autoradios verbinden.
3. Stromstecker am i-sotec-Kabelbaum mit der Kupplung des mit-
gelieferten Stromadapters verbinden.
4. Die ISO-Stromstecker des Fahrzeug-Kabelbaums vom Autoradio
lösen und mit der ISO-Stromkupplung (schwarz) des mitgelieferten
Stromadapters verbinden (Details siehe Kapitel A.1.3)
5. Den ISO-Stromstecker (schwarz) des mitgelieferten
Stromadapters mit der ISO-Stromkupplung des Autoradios verbin-
den.
6. Cinch Ausgänge mit den entsprechenden Endstufen Eingängen-
ggfs. Subwoofer- verbinden (Cinch-Kabel separat erwerben).
7. Remote-Out des Auxgate®-USC mit dem Remote-Eingang der
Endstufe verbinden
A1.3 Anschluss der Spannungsversorgung
Der Auxgate® USC wird mit einem ISO Stromadapter ausge-
liefert. Dieser wird zwischen Autoradio und Fahrzeug-
Kabelbaum angeschlossen. Hierzu:
1. ISO-Stromstecker des Fahrzeugkabelbaums vom Autoradio trennen und an der ISO-
Stromkupplung des i-sotec Stromadapters anschließen.

Signal Converter is the ideal signal conditioner for radios without line (RCA) outputs to be hooked
up with aftermarket amplifiers or other peripherals like audio processors, equalizers etc. Auxgate®
USC is particularly designed for factory-equipped radios (OEM) as a converter of the speaker output
signal into a line signal (high-low converter). The inputs are designed as ISO connectors, covering
about 40% of the radio models, but with i-sotec´s adapter lineup, moe than 500 different car
models can be adapted in plug-and-go style.
Please check, if you need such adapter before ordering. The connection of the Auxgate® USC´s
RCA outputs to a power amplifier is accomplished by using standard RCA (Cinch) cables, that
must be purchased separately.
A.1.1 Installation
First of all, check if the radio is theft-protected by a code number. Make sure you have this code
number available, otherwise the radio will not work after completed installation. Then dismount
the radio from the dashboard in order to access the connectors on the rear side. If your radio is
equipped with ISO connectors, use the i-sotec cable set. If it has other, model-specific connectors,
use the respective adapter between radio and ISO cable set.
ISO connectors for speaker connection (fig.1)
These ISO speaker plugs have a lever to unlock them for unplugging on the small side of the plug
housing. The ISO plug receptacle can only be plugged-in to the ISO speaker plug. The ISO power

(+12V/GND), blue and pink for remote out and tel. mute in.

This figure shows an overview of all needed connections for installation.
In general, the Auxgate® USC is connected as shown. The following
steps have to be taken to make a connection to the radio:

INTENDED USE
The Auxgate® USC is only designed to be used in 12V vehicle
environments, and on the original cable harness. All other allpi-
cations may cause defect of the unit or parts of the vehicle´s
electrical system !

A.1 Connections
Connect the Auxgate® USC to the radio/head unit using the orig-
inal i-sotec ISO cable set. If the radio /head unit has other than
ISO connectors, please use one of the original i-sotec adapters,
that are available for more than 500 different car models. There is
an online configurator on the i-sotec website www.i-sotec.com .

This plug (ISO-power) has the locking lever on one smaller

side with an offset position from the middle.

2. Connect the brown ISO speaker plug of the Auxgate®
cable set to the ISO speaker output of the radio
3. Connect the black ISO power connector to the Auxgate®
cable set.
4. Unplug the ISO power connector from the radio, and
insert the black Auxgate® power connector instead. (For
details see chapter A.1.3 !)
5. Insert the other side of the ISO power adapter to the
vehicle cable harness.
6. Use RCA cables to connect the outputs of the Auxgate®
USC to your amplifier.
7. Connect the blue remote cable to the remote input of
your amplifier.
A.1.3 Selection of the powersupply
The Auxgate® USC comes with an ISO power adapter, that
must be connected to the radio and the vehicle cable harness.
1. Unplug the ISO power connector from the radio and re-con-
nect it to the power adapter of the Auxgate® cable set.
2. The round and flat connectors must be connected to the
respective pins of the ISO power adapter.
3. Plug the ISO power adapter into the radio. Several car mod-
