Listening to the Radio

1. Turn the volume control knob (3) counter clockwise to setup the volume to a
lower level.
2. Use the power on/off button (10) to switch on the device.
3. Use the function buttons (7) to select the desired frequency band UKW (fm) or
MW (am).
4. Adjust the tuning control knob (8) to select the desired frequency. Read the
frequency at the frequency range scales (4) resp. (5). The UKW stereo indica-
tor (6) lights up when a UKW station in stereo is received.
5. Use the volume control knob (3) to adjust the volume to the desired level.
6. Use the power on/off button to switch off the device.
Notes on radio reception:
MW: The bar antenna is located inside the cabinet. In case the reception quality
is unsatisfactory, try repositioning the device until the antenna picks up the
strongest signal.
UKW: The UKW wire antenna (26) is located at the back of the cabinet. If neces-
sary, adjust the position of the antenna until the reception quality is satisfactory.

Playing back a Compact Disc

Note: The CD-player has been designed to playback Audio-CDs, CD-R discs and
CD-RW discs created according to the audio-CD standard. However the playabil-
ity of CD-R/RW discs can depend on various aspects such as the brand of the
blank CD, the burning software that has been used and the quality and condition
of the blank CD.
1. Turn the volume control knob (3) counter clockwise to setup the volume to a
lower level.
2. Use the power on/off button (10) to switch on the device.
3. Use the function buttons (7) to select the CD function.
4. Lift and open the CD door (13).
5. Lift the CD holder lifter (15) and insert the CD you want to play, printed label
side facing up. Lower the CD holder lifter. The CD is clamped.
6. The CD spins for a few seconds while the CD-player reads the directory of the
CD. Then the disc stops and the CD track number display (16) shows the total
number of tracks of the CD.
7. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (23) to start playing back the CD from the first
track.
