Installation

Installation COMAND 2.0/ COMAND APS 220 (Blaupunkt)

1. Remove and disconnect the head unit.
2. Connect the black and green plug from the 670841 cable kit with the jacks (C1, C2) in the rear of the
head unit. If these jacks are already plugged by the COMANDs' specific harness, remove the
housings from the 670841s connectors, write down the pin assignment, remove the pins and

plug them besides the ones which are already connected.

3. Connect the red, lose wire from the 670841 cable kit with terminal 30 (permanent +12V), and the black,
brown and brown/yellow lose wire with chassis ground negative.

Connect the purple wire with the signal for parking brake (ground). This connection prevents the

function of the interface while driving and serves as security.

Function is only given when parking brake is drawn. ("ground switched")

4. Connect the respective device cable kit (e.g. 670846) and the vehicle cable kit (670841) via the enclosed
Y-cable with the remote control input from the video device. Due to the Y-cable, the original IR eye can be
used further on.
5. Connect RCA jacks - A: audio left (black), B: audio right (red), C: video (yellow, CVBS) with the video
source. Connection with the video source should only be done with high quality RCA video cables
otherwise the picture quality could be bad, caused by a weak video signal.
6. Refit the head unit.

Activating the AUX input

If the COMAND system shows „No TV!" after installing the interface, you have to activate the TV input. Only a
Mercedes dealer with service computer (Star diagnostic) can do this. In most cases the TV input can be
activated by a single touch upon "TV".
You cannot adjust colour, contrast and brightness by the TV-menu. You have to adjust it directly at the interface
(see installation-guide).

Twin operation of a DVB-T tuner and DVD player

For this mode an optionally obtainable cable kit is necessary. Switching between remote control codes is
done with a long button press upon the right poti (15). To show the current active remote control mode, the
audio menu in the speedo display is used:
TV1 - DVBT / TV2 - DVD.
