Field of application
The impedance-measuring instrument ZPM 4000 serves to the measurement of the
impedance (Z) and the phase of singles-loudspeakers and loudspeaker-lines. The
processor-controlled measurement can be realised at a selectable frequency from 25 Hz
to 25 kHz.
First operation
The batteries
Unscrew and open the battery-compartment-cover on the rear of the instrument.
Four 1.5-V-Batteries, Mignon size (AA) have to be inserted as described inside the
battery-compartment. NiCd - or NiMH-types should not be used because of theirs lower
tension.
Close the battery-compartment again tight the screws.
Power up
Press and hold on the button (1) until "ic audio ZPM 4000" appears on the display. The
actual battery-tension and OK, if the state of charge is sufficient, will be prompted for a
few seconds. The full battery-tension is approximately 6.3 V. If this one gets under 5.5V
then the batteries are weak and should be replaced soon. At a voltage of 5.1V and below
no measurements will be feasible. If on the display (7), the information „battery empty"
appears or if the display does not react after switching on, then the batteries must be
renewed.
Always turns off the device with the button (2) after use to save battery power. If the
instrument is not in use for longer time we recommend removing the batteries to avoid
leakage damages.
