Set-up
The kettle must only be used on a dry, level, firm surface.
Never let the kettle, base or power cord come into contact with surfaces (e.g., a stove).
• Place the base (6) close to a wall socket.
• Place the kettle onto the base.
Mains connection
Before you plug in the mains plug, make sure first that the voltage data indicated on the
device is compatible with the mains voltage available. Do not connect the device if the
data doesn't agree with the available mains voltage. If the supply voltage is incorrect,
serious damage and danger to the user may result.
The mains socket, to which the kettle is connected, must be easily accessible so the
device can be quickly disconnected from the mains supply if there is ever a fault.
Connect the kettle always directly into a wall electrical outlet. Due to high power con-
sumption, the use of power strips, extension cords, etc. is not advisable as these can be
easily overloaded with multiple devices, particularly when operating. The power outlet
used must be protected with a fuse of at least 16A.
The kettle must always be turned off when connecting it to the power supply.
Make sure that the connection cable is not pinched or damaged by sharp edges. Always
lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them. There is a risk of
injury! The excess length of the power cord can be wrapped in the cord storage in the base.
Be careful when handling the mains cables and mains connectors. Mains voltage can
cause serious electric shocks, which can be fatal.
Plug the power cord into a wall outlet.

Operation

Start using the device only after you have familiarized yourself with the instructions in
this manual.
The kettle must only be used for the heating of potable water. Do not use it to heat other
liquids or foods.
Before switching the kettle on, the water level must be at least at the minimum capacity
(MIN mark on the glass container).
Never switch on the device if there is no water in it or if the quantity is too low. Should this
happen accidentally, there is an automatic safety shutdown (overheat protection). Then wait
about 15 minutes until the unit has cooled before filling it with water and turning it on again.
Do not move the device during operation.
Turn the device off before you put it on or take it off the base.
Never fill the kettle higher than the MAX mark. When boiling water, some hot water might
spurt out from the spout.
Never open the lid while the water is boiling.
When the kettle is hot, grab it only by the handle and hold it upright, so that no hot water
can escape.

Fill the kettle before the first use to the MAX mark with water and bring it to a boil as described
below. For this occasion, use only plain water without anything added to it.
Perform this procedure three times before starting to use the kettle, in order to remove any
residues from the manufacturing process.
• Press the lid release (2) to open the lid (3).
• Fill the kettle with potable water. The water level must be between the MIN and MAX markings.
• Close the lid (3) again.
• Place the kettle onto the base (6).
• Set the on / off switch (5) to position I in order to turn on the kettle. When the device is switched on, the
power indicator (7) lights up.
• Once the water is boiled, the kettle will automatically switch off. The on / off switch (5) jumps back to the
position O and the power indicator (7) will go out.
• Take the kettle by the handle (4) off the base (6) and pour the water out through the spout (1).
• The heating process can be interrupted at any time by moving the ON / OFF switch (5) to the O position.
• After use, disconnect the power cord from the power outlet and allow the kettle to cool before putting it
away. The excess length of the power cord can be wrapped in the cord storage in the base.
Maintenance and cleaning
Always unplug the unit before cleaning or doing any maintenance work (pull the plug!)
from the power supply and let it cool down first.
Do not immerse the kettle and the socket in water or other liquids.
The kettle is not dishwasher safe.
Cleaning
Rinse the water container inside with clean water and wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
The strainer in the spout (1) can be taken out from the inside. Clean the filter with a soft brush and attach
it back to its holder.
Please use a soft, dry, clean cloth for cleaning.
Do not use aggressive detergents as these can cause discolouration of the case.
Descaling
From time to time, the kettle must be descaled. The time interval depends on the water hardness and the
frequency of use.
• For descaling the kettle, use a commercial descaling solution and dispense it according to the
manufacturer's instructions. For this purpose, never use any vinegar!
• Fill the water container with descaling solution and let the solution sit there overnight if possible.
• Then, pour out the descaling solution, rinse the water container several times with clean water and wipe
any remaining limescale with a soft cloth.
• After the descaling process, boil water three to four times in order to remove the last residues of descaling
solution.
The descaling solution and their residues are not suitable for consumption. Pour out the
water that was boiled to remove the last residues of descaling solution.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the household
waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
