12. Balanced output to connect an external power amp
An additional power amp can be connected via the XLR output EXT.Amplifier (50). This amp can either be used
as spare amplifier or as paging amplifier. You find more details in the chapter ‚Selection of Operation Mode'
13. Interruption of Signal Path between Pre – and Power Amp
The PRE OUT (53) and POWER IN (52) terminals are originally linked with jumper plugs and connect the internal
preamplifier stage with the power amp stage.
At these terminals you can i.e. loop in an equalizer, feedback supressor, mixing console, etc.
14. Connection of a recording Device
At the REC OUT (51) output provides an audio signal that is not being influenced by the MASTER controller (8).
15. Connection of Speakers for Zone 1 - Zone 6
The base unit UCA 8240 offers 6 zones. The number of zones can be extended to max 54 by utilizing max. 4
extension units UCX 8012.
You find further infos on how to connect the extension units UCX 8012 in the UCX 8012 user manual.
You can select/unselect the desired Zone 1-6 with the keys located underneath the volume controls(14). A
selected zone is indicated by the lighted green LED above the respective zone key.
Attention:
The output power of the UCA 8240 is shared among zones 1 – 6. Different output powers can be connected to the
different zones but the total power must not exceed 240W.
16. 0/8Ω/70V/100V Speaker Output
This terminal (21) provides the output signal of the internal power amp of the internal power amp of the UCA 8240.
Simultaneous utilization of the different outputs (8Ω/70V/100V) is not possible. If the 8 Ohm output is being used,
no speakers must be connected to the zone outputs 1 – 6 (57).

17. Remote Power

The UCA 8240 can be remotely switched on by feeding 24V DC to the terminal (22). To utilize this function the
power switch (15) must be in it's ‚off' position!
In case of 24V emergency mode the remote power function is unavailable.
18. DC 24V Operation
Via the terminal DC24V (20) the unit can be operated with 24V emergency power.
In 24V emergency power mode the remote power function is not available!
Attention!
Make sure that the batteries are connected with the correct polarity!!
