Trouble-shooting
The green LED does not light up
Cause 1:
R-Link cable between T+A system and
adapter not properly plugged in
Remedy: check cable, plug in firmly
Cause 2:
T+A system is switched OFF
Remedy:
switch mains power switch of T+A system
ON
Cause 3
older R-systems (before 2004) deliver no
supply voltage on R-Link Bus
Remedy

troller
LED of the RS232 adapter does not flash red when
RS232 command telegram is sent
RS232 controller is not connected properly
Cause 1:
to RS232 adapter
Remedy: check RS232 cable, connect properly, plug

Cause 2:
command telegram does not comply to the
T+A communication protocol
(wrong check sum, wrong length byte etc.)
Remedy
check command – correct if necessary
system can not be operated by the RS232 con-
troller
a) LED of the RS232 adapter flashes red (long flash
approx. 1 sec.) when RS232 telegram is sent
b) the check sum returned by the adapter is equal to the
expected check sum – 1
the RS232 adapter is not able to communicate on the R-
Link bus
Cause 1: no communication because adapter is
not connected to the R-Link bus
Remedy
check R-Link cable, connect properly, plug
cable in firmly
Cause 2: R-system only: no Master device present
(P1230, PA1230, PA1530, R1230, SR1535)
Remedy: only R-systems with master unit can be
controlled

Cause 3:

Remedy
check R-Link cables, connect properly, plug

Cause 2: no acknowledge because the address
byte is wrong
Remedy:
check the address byte in the RS232 tele-
gram
Cause 3: software of the source device not compati-
ble with RS232 control
Remedy:
update to RS232-compatible software (con-
sult T+A service dept. or your distributor
device can be controlled by the RS232 system
but certain commands are not executed
LED of the RS232 adapter flashes red (short flash) (ap-
prox. 0,1 sec) when RS232 telegram is sent
Cause 1: error in command telegram
Remedy: check RS232 command according to the
rules of the T+A communication protocol
Cause 2: command is not supported by the device
Remedy In principal all the commands of the original
remote control are supported
check the users manual of the T+A de-
vice to see, if the command is supported
There are some additional commands for the
RS232
„T+A_RS232_protocol.doc" for details
Cause 3: software of the T+A device does not support
all commands
Remedy
update to latest software version
(consult T+A service dept. or your distribu-
tor)
