Polyetherimide (PEI) Tweeter
The Full Range Speakers use a polymer dome for controlled high
frequency reproduction. The PEI dome also exhibits a high stiffness-
to-mass ratio which eliminates coloration of high frequencies.
THE RESULT: Controlled high frequency response.
Magnetic Fluid Cooling
Magnetic fluid is a synthetic liquid consisting of microscopic mag-
netic particles. The fluid has four times the thermal conductivity as air
which makes it an ideal cooling agent. Magnetic fluid is injected into
the voice coil gap which helps dissipate heat generated by the voice
coil.
THE RESULT: A thermal conductor which allows increased power
handling.
Phase Plug
The tweeters (except RFP-1469) incorporate a phase plug mounted
just above the tweeter dome. The Phase Plug controls the tweeter's
dispersion pattern and increases off-axis response for better imaging.
THE RESULT: Controls dispersion for better imaging.
