Zusätzlich können die Handschuhe im Falle eines Sturzes die Hände und Handgelenke des Trägers bis zu einem gewissen Grad vor mechanischen Einflüssen schützen. Die besonderen Gefahren bei Motorradunfällen stellen einer- seits Stürze mit dem Motorrad und andererseits Kollisionen mit anderen Fahrzeugen oder mit festen Objekten am Straßenrand dar. -

De handschoenen kunnen bescherming bieden tegen weersinvloeden zonder de vereiste vingervlugheid van de drager voor het gebruiken van de bedieningselementen van de motor onnodig te beperken. Bovendien kunnen de handschoenen bij een valpartij de handen en polsen van de drager tot op zekere hoogte tegen mechanische invloeden beschermen.
