Argentine (DB-8A-2). H olland(DB-8A-3N) a lsoSwedenwasinterested in purchasing it. Sweden
purchased onetest aircraftdesignated DB-8A-Iandproduction license for domesticSaabCompany.
The productionstarted in 1938and the aircraft were designatedBe5Band B-5C. Swedish machines
werepowered by BritishBristol P egasus enginenotliketheotherversionspowered by US
provenience engines. O therequipment w asdifferent, t oo.B-5aircraftweretheonlyonesto havethe
swingarminstalledfor divebombing. D ueto theharshnorthern conditionthepossibility Ofski
undercarriage was considered. The aircraft served within the Swedish Air Force thru the whole VvW II
and the last ended its service in 50s. They were never used in combat since Sweden was neutral
state.
