Intended use
This notepad enables you to transfer handwritten notes to your digital devices via a USB
connection. You can write, share or manage digital content such as handwritten notes,
signatures and sketches on social media services. Handwritten notes can be saved in Word,
Excel or PDF formats for Apple and Windows. This product does not support handwriting
recognition. The software provided allows you to save and manage your handwritten content.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in
bathrooms, must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use
the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged.
In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc.
Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only
together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information
on proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
a) General information
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become
dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed
if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are
connected to the product.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the
device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an
expert or at a qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
b) Battery
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the battery.
• The battery should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of
time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause
acid burns when in contact with skin, For this reason, use suitable protective
gloves to handle a damaged battery.
• The battery must be kept out of the reach of children. Do not leave the battery lying
around, as there is a risk that children or pets may swallow it.
• Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire.
Never recharge a non-rechargeable battery. There is a risk of explosion!

software after installing it on your computer, or read the manufacturer's instructions.

Operation

a) Changing the battery
• Replace the battery if you can no longer erase written content on your notepad.
The battery life depends on your usage patterns. Frequently deleting handwritten
entries will cause the battery life to decrease.
• Loosen the screw on the battery compartment cover using a Phillips screwdriver.
• Remove the battery compartment cover from the battery compartment (7).
• Insert a new replacement battery (type CR2032, not included) with correct polarity into the
battery compartment (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
• Close the battery compartment. Secure the screw back into place using a Phillips screwdriver.
b) Installing the software
In order to function properly, the notepad software requires Microsoft .NET
Framework 4 for Windows to be installed on your computer. If you have not installed
this framework, the Write2Go software will install it automatically. Before starting the
installation, ensure that there is sufficient free storage available on your hard drive
to prevent error messages during the installation.
• Insert the software CD into a CD drive. The installation will start automatically. If it does not
start, double click on SETUP.
• Choose a language and confirm your selection. Accept the license terms. Follow the
subsequent installation instructions. You may need to restart your computer once the
installation is complete.
The installation procedure may vary depending on your operating system
(e.g. Mac OS or Windows

• You can download and install the latest software for the notepad online at www.penpower.net.
Using the notepad
• Use the USB cable to connect the USB port (3) on the LCD notepad to a USB port on your
computer. The LED (8) on the notepad will turn on.
If you want to connect the notepad to a USB hub rather than a computer, use a USB
hub with an external power adapter to ensure that there is an adequate supply of
power.
• Open the Write2Go software via the Windows menu or by double-clicking on the program in
the installation directory.
