Television simulator "TV03"
Item no. 1406724

Intended use

The product is used to simulate the presence of persons and scare away
burglars. The light of the integrated coloured LEDs changes in colour and
brightness through a random generator, and thus simulates the light ef-
fects of a normal TV programme.
The function can be enabled automatically at dusk for 4 or 7 hours via a
brightness sensor. You can also switch the product on or off using a timer
(available as accessory), as required.
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information inclu-
ded in these operating instructions.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this
product and involves the risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.
This product complies with the applicable national and European requi-
rements. All names of companies and products are the trademarks of the

to observe these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability
for any resulting damage!

• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is
not permitted for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy. Devices operated using mains voltage
do not belong in the hands of children. Therefore, be especially
careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• The product is intended for use only in dry, indoor locations. No
part of the product should become damp or wet; never handle it if
your hands are wet!
With the wall plug transformer there is also the deadly peril of an
electric shock!
• Do not pull the wall plug transformer from the mains socket by
pulling on the cable. Hold it on the sides of the casing and then
pull it out of the mains socket.
• If the wall plug transformer is damaged, do not touch it; there is
danger to life from electric shock!
Switch off the mains socket to which the wall plug transformer
is connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or
remove the safety fuse, then switch off the earth leakage circuit
breaker). Unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains socket.
Replace the defective wall plug transformer only with a wall plug
transformer of the same design.
• The design of the wall plug transformer complies with Protection
Class II. Only use a standard mains socket as the voltage source
for the wall plug transformer (see section "Technical data").
The mains socket into which the wall plug transformer is plugged
must be easily accessible.
• Caution, LED light:
Do not look directly into the LED light!
Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it
could become a dangerous plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts,
blows, or accidental falls, even from a low height.

Getting started

• Connect the round low voltage plug of the wall plug transformer provi-
ded to the corresponding socket on the television simulator.
• Plug the wall plug transformer into a standard mains socket.
• You can now select the function via the sliding switch on the back:
"OFF" The television simulator is switched off.
"+4"
The television simulator is switched on at dusk for 4 hours; af-
terwards, it switches off automatically.
When the ambient brightness falls below the switching
threshold again on the next day, the device is switched on
again for 4 hours.
"+7"
The function is as described above under "+4" , however, the
television simulator remains switched on for 7 hours.
"ON" The television simulator is permanently switched on.
This switch position has to be used if you want to use the te-
levision simulator via an external timer, for example. You can
find various suitable clock timers in our catalogues or online at
www.conrad.com.
This way, you can also activate the television simulator during
the day or randomly control its activation.
• Place the television simulator on a level, stable surface so that it can-
not fall down. Protect valuable furniture surfaces from dents or scratch
marks using a suitable underlay.
The mounting location should be a place that is not directly visible
from outside. Otherwise, the burglar may notice that this is not a
real television set.
Check the light effects of the activated television simulator from out-
side your apartment, and if required, choose a different mounting
location.
Do not direct a lamp towards the television simulator, otherwise it
may be switched on unintentionally via the integrated twilight sen-
sor (in the switch position "+4" or "+7"). Never cover the television
simulator.
