This very useful instrument has been conceived to meet
requirements o f an amateurradiooperatoras well as of the most
demanding engineer.In fact, it coversa frequencyrangefrom 3
to 200 MHz. By reasonof its low price it is within the reachof
anyone.SWRPOWERMETERmod. HP 500 is dividedintotwo
parts as regardsits circuits: SWR meter and wattmeter. SWR
meter has been carried out with "Strip-line" according to the most
modern constructive technologies. The line is of directional
couplertype. Bothinstrumentsallow to read at the sametime
the direct and reflected power. Wattmeter has been carried out
by usinga flat detectorcircuitof 3 to 200 MHz. The measuring
capacities are three to assure a good reading accuracy to any
power whatever.Powers on lines at 52 and 75 Q may be
measured by changing over the special key.

Use as SWR meter:
A) Connectthe SWR meteraccordingto the words behindthe
instrument.
B) Rotatethe SET knob fully counterclockwise.
C) Press SWR key.
D) Select bythe special key the impedance of the line 52or 75 Q.

On the right-hand instrument you'll read SWR of antenna
under measuring.
Use as power meter:
A) Connectthe Wattmeteraccordingto the words behindthe
instruments.
B) Select by the special key the impedance of the line 52 or 75 Q.
C) Select on the keyboardthe full scale required
D) Deliver power and read on the left-hand instrumentthe
delivered power value. For the full scale value 100 and 1,000
multiply by 10 and 100 respectively the value read on the
instrument.
ATTENTION!: the measuring accuracy depends on SWR of the
dummy load. By using an antenna as load, the measuring
accuracy depends on its SWR, the higher it is the less accurate
the measuring is. Only for internal use in rooms with a
temperatureof between-IOOCand +400C.
