ATTENTION
Flammable Refrigerant R290
General chemical and physical properties:
Natural, halogen free substance with no Ozone Depletion Potential and negligible Global Warming Impact
(GWP=3)
Low toxicity (AEL 1000 PPM)
Explosive: ignition limits between 1.7 and 10.9% Vol. in air.
Special safety guidelines are to be observed.
Steps are to be taken that in case of a refrigerant leak, it is harmelessly vented away so that no explosive mixture
can occur.
ATTENTION
Technical safety requirements
The equipment must be located complying with the existing EU legislation, such as Pressure Equipment Directive
(PED) (97/23/EC), the directive concerning potential explosive atmosphere ATEX 95 (94/9/EC), EN378, and othe
relevant EU legislation.
Make sure not to damage the gas pipes, in order to avoid the spoiling of refrigerant gas in the
environment.
Exposure of the refrigerant to air might cause risk of fire, which will ignite if flames or electric sparks
are present.
Components are designed to avoid these risks; in case of replacement, use only original spare parts,
certified for safety requirements.
Any technical intervention, like in case of breakdowns or malfunction, must be performed by a
specialized technician, qualified for refrigerant gas handling. Related equipment should also address
safety issues properly.
When loading and unloading gas in the machine, it is mandatory to use proper equipment specific for
the gas in use (vacuum pumps, leak detectors).
In any case avoid the contact of the flammable gas with electrical equipment and keep away from fire.
