Important note on duration of use:

If medication is used in the aquarium, the UV-C appliance must be switched off for the dura-
tion of the treatment, as the medication may be broken down into ineffective ingredients
otherwise.
The efficacy of modern fertiliser preparations, vitamins, etc. in a freshwater aquarium may
also be impaired significantly by the use of UV-C water clarifiers. Therefore the permanent
use of UV-C water clarifiers in freshwater is generally not recommended. The decision should
be based on priorities in individual cases.
However, permanent use is preferable in saltwater aquariums and garden ponds.
