The display
[7]
is
the information
center
of the
REVOX
8225
compact disc
player.
All operating
states of
the
unit can be
indi-
cated or
read out. The
content of
a
compact disc
as
well
as
the
momentary
playing
timewithin
a
selection
(TRACKTIME)
orthe
time
f
rom
the beginning
of
the
CD (CD
TIME) can
be
read
on
the
display.

Display in normal
play mode
(PLAY CD MODE)
lf STOP
[3]
is
pressed after
a
new
CD has been loaded,
the
bar
IE] indicates
30 selections
This is normal and
means
that
the
CD's
table of
contents
has not been read
in
yet. The
table
of
con-
tents
is updated
as
soon as
PLAY/NEXT
[4]
is
pressed.
The
display provides
the
following
status information
in
normal
play CD mode:
Note:
TRACK
:
title,
selection
or segment into which the compact
disc
has been
subdivided. On
CDs
with
popular music one
se-
lection/title corresponds usuallyto onefull
"TRACK". Some CDs
with
classical music are better subdivided, especially
in
works
with
pauseless
transitions.
This
fine
subdivision
is
made
with
indices. The
INDEX is
auto
matically
indicated on the display
as
soon
as
the
laser
pickup
reads an
INDEX
information on
the
CD.
Freld C
of
the
display indicates
the
momentary position of
the
laser pickup
within
a
selection
(TRACK
TIME)
By
pressing
the
DISPLAY
key
[17]
the display can
be
switched
over
to
indicate
the
momentary position
of
the laser
pickup
relative
to
the start
of
the
CD
(CD
TIME)
Press
this
key again to
switch
back
to
TRACK
TIN/IE,
Caution:
When
the display
is
switched
over
with
push button
DISPLAY
[17]
from
TRACK TIME
to
CD TIN/E at
the beginning of
a
com-
pact
disc. the
two
times differ
by
approximately
2
seconds. The
reason
for this
is
the
following:
the
TRACK
TIME
is
the
actual
time
f
rom
the start of the selection. the
CD
TIME also includes
the pause
atthe beginning
of
the
compact
disc
(approximately
2
seconds
before the
first selection
starts). This
information
is
en-
coded
on
the
compact
disc,
i.e.
it
does not depend
on the
type of
CD
player.

CD
player

switched to program mode (Section
