• Paint protection can be identified by the convex surface on the slewing
bearing seal top. It forms an integrated part of the seal.
• Prior to commissioning, a rotator may be repainted without replacing the
seal.
• Note that before the rotator is commissioned, the paint protection must be
removed even if no repainting has taken place.
• For further information, refer to the Assembly section.
Maintenance
Verify that the rotator is depressurised and voltage free before work is begun.
In the case of leakage, abnormal play, cracks or other operational disruptions,
the rotator must immediately be serviced by authorised personnel. Additional
damage can occur.
Maintenance that requires the rotator to be dismantled may only be per-
formed by trained personnel. The rotator must be dismantled in the right way
to prevent personal injury.
Defective parts shall be replaced only with original spare parts from Indexator
Rotator Systems AB.
Lubrication
The product is delivered with greased bearings.
Instruction concerning bearings with multiple lubrication points: Make sure
that all grease points are charged when lubricating; remember to rotate the
bearing to distribute the grease evenly.
Grease regularly. Intervals depend on the application, intensity of use, ambient
temperature, the type of grease and the environment, and should be specified
by the machine builder.
Note that surplus grease forces its way out beneath the bearing and is not
visible.
Recommendation when working underwater
There is an increased risk of water and contaminants entering the rotator
when working under water, mainly due to the water pressure. Indexator Rota-
tor Systems AB recommends that the bearing be lubricated daily, before and
