Get started in ten steps...
1. Remove the equipment from the carton and carefully
remove all packaging materials: the special acrylic
finish being very scratch-prone!
Check the pre-amp visually: if you detect any defect
please contact your distributor immediately.
Keep all packaging materials: in case of any damage
claims and to safely transport the equipment in future.
2. The pre-amplifier should be placed in such a way as
to allow sufficient airflow around it, but never:
- on top of a power amplifier or other heat producing
equipment,
- on top or underneath a CD player or other digital
equipment,
- in direct sunlight.
3. Connect the other audio equipment.
The inputs at the backpanel are from left to right:

The last one is a balanced input.
4. There are two unbalanced outputs and one balanced
output. These may be used simultaneously. Use these
to connect your power amplifier(s) and/or surround
processors.
5. Connect the optical Control output to other Sphinx
equipment (like the power amp).

6. Connect the power connector to a power receptacle.
Switch the pre-amp on with the O / I switch at the back
panel (below AC POWER).
The volume control will turn completely counter-
clockwise and the STANDBY LED on the front panel
will blink red/green.
After a short time the amp will select Standby-mode:
the LED will remain red.
From now on you only use the STANDBY button to
switch the pre-amp on and off .
7. Switch on the complete audio system: the pre-amp will
automatically select the CD Sym input as indicated by
the red CD Sym LED.
8. You may select another input with the left rotary knob
or by pressing the correct key (from 1 to 7) on the
remote control.
Adjust the volume with the right rotary knob or with the
VOLUME UP/DOWN buttons on the remote control
(note: the volume setting always defaults to ' 0' after
switching the power on for the first time).
9. You will find more information about these and other
functions in the User Manual.
10. We wish you many enjoyable listening hours with
your new Sphinx Project Two Mk2 pre-amp!
