5. INTENDED USE
This Gigabit switch is easy to install and helps you expand your network quickly and reliably. All six-
teen ports automatically detect the speed of the connected devices and support Auto MDI/MDI-X
crossover detection, so you don't have to worry about the type of cable used. Each individual port
negotiates its optimal speed and operation in half or full duplex mode. Fast „store-and-forward"
switching prevents corrupted packets from being passed onto the network. Supports IEEE802.3az
energy-effi cient Ethernet (EEE), reduced power consumption through cable length detection and
automatic signal strength. This helps to reduce energy consumption and protect our environment.
General warnings:
• Do not expose the InLine® Gigabit Network Switch to extreme heat
• Protect from dust and moisture
6. IMPROPER USE
The following shall be deemed to be improper use within the meaning of a foreseeable misuse:
• Do not disassemble the InLine® Gigabit Network Switch
7. APPLICATION / COMMISSIONING
Hardware installation
1. Plug the power cord into the IEC socket of the device and the other end into a power outlet. The
„PWR" LED lights up.
2. Connect an RJ45 cable from the switch to the Ethernet port of the powered device.
3. Make sure the connected device is turned on. If it still does not work, make sure all Ethernet
cables are properly connected.
Installation in the rack
1. Fasten the supplied mounting brackets to each side of the switch using the screws also supplied.
2. Tighten the screws.
3. After attaching the mounting brackets to the switch, screw them to the rack using suitable
screws.
8. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Clean the switch with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use water or cleaning fl uids that could damage the
electronics.
