Object of the game:
Promoting spatial insight through building with
blocks according to assignments.
Target group:
Individual or in pairs from the age of 4.
Development objectives:
Thought and mathematical development
Spatial
and
environmental discovery
Motor development and developing
writing
-
visual observation
-
spatial orientation in two or three-dimensional
levels
-
acquiring insight into mathematical concepts
-
expressing and mastering spatial concepts
and spatial relationships like in front, behind,
above, below, left, right, on top, underneath,
straight up etc.
Game:
The assignment cards vary in difficulty, from simple
models using a few blocks to more complicated
ones with multiple blocks. The models vary in
the number of blocks with which to build, their
height, their width and their composition.

orientation
In free play the children can explore the
possibilities of the materials themselves. They
can sort the blocks according to colour, to shape
(rectangular or square) and quantity.
Then they switch to structured play, using the
assignment cards. By building, children discover
that an object's position and orientation can
change in space. They thus learn well how to
observe a figure in space and to reproduce it.
The assignment cards:
-
The children choose an assignment card and
reproduce the figure.
-
The children choose an assignment card,
study it carefully and then build the figure
from memory.
-
Two children choose an assignment card
together. One child describes the assignment
and the other produces the figure.

Modular Set II expands further on Modular Set I.
This set addresses spatial orientation at the three-
dimensional level. Reasoning is also given extra
consideration in this set.
Set II is intended to integrate observation, motor
skills, memory and coordination between
the various component processes at a three-
dimensional level.
The models on the assignment cards now also
vary in depth.
