Mit dem Dämmelement „X.1M" ist der „epro-X.A" keine Persönliche Schutzausrüstung (PSA), da er
die Anforderung an die Mindestschalldämmung nach EN 352-2:2020 nicht erfüllt. Er darf deswegen
nur zu Komfortzwecken eingesetzt werden, z. B. bei störenden Hintergrundgeräuschen.
With the attenuation element "X.1M" the "epro-X.A" does not qualify as personal protective equipment
(hearing protection devices), as it does not fulfill the requirement for minimum attenuation in accor-
dance with EN 352-2:2020. It may only be used for leisure purposes, e. g. to attenuate disturbing
background noises.
Avec l'élément d'atténuation « X.1M » le « epro-X.A » n'est pas un équipement de protection indivi-
duelle (protection anti-bruit), parce que l'exigence à l'atténuation minimale en accordance avec
EN 352-2:2020 n'est pas remplie. De ce fait ne que l'employer à un moyen de confort, p. ex. contre
des interférences.

Gebrauchsanleitung für epro-X.A Gehörschutz
Mit Ihrem neuen, speziell für Sie angefertigten Gehörschutz epro-X.A haben Sie sich für den individuellen
Schutz Ihres Gehörs vor schädigendem oder störendem Lärm entschieden. Ihr Gehörschutz kommt einem
Maßanzug für Ihr Ohr gleich und gewährleistet Ihnen stets höchstmöglichen Tragekomfort. Der Gehörschutz
wird im Ohr getragen. Er lässt sich mit geringerem Aufwand korrekt einsetzen, ist mit anderen Schutzaus-
rüstungen (z. B. Schutzbrillen) gut verträglich und vor allem für die längere Aufenthaltsdauer im Lärmbereich
geeignet. Bei sachgemäßer Verwendung schützt er vor schädlichem Lärm. Jede andere Verwendung ist nicht
bestimmungsgemäß und daher nicht zulässig. Wir wünschen Ihnen viel Freude damit!

Einsetzen und Entnehmen des Gehörschutzes (s. Skizze 2 bis 4)
1. Nehmen Sie den Gehörschutz epro-X.A mit sauberen Händen aus der Verpackung.
2. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Ihr Gehörschutz komplett, unbeschädigt und sauber ist. Beschädigter Gehör-

schutz darf nicht ins Ohr eingesetzt werden. Bitte setzen Sie sich ggf. mit Ihrem Fachberater in Verbindung.

3. Achten Sie auf die Farbmarkierung rot bzw. blau an Ihrem Gehörschutz:

rot = Gehörschutz für das rechte Ohr; blau = Gehörschutz für das linke Ohr.

4. Nehmen Sie den rechten Gehörschutz in die rechte Hand, den linken in die linke Hand, wobei der Daumen
unten am Passstück und der Zeigefinger oben am Griffstück zufassen (Skizze 2).
5. Führen Sie den Gehörschutz ohne Drehbewegung zum Ohr und setzen Sie ihn von hinten in den Gehör-
gang ein (Skizze 3). Stellen Sie sicher, dass er tief genug und bequem im Ohr sitzt (Skizze 4).
6. Das Einsetzen kann durch Verwendung von cedis Pflegegel (s. Zusatzausstattung) erleichtert werden.
7. Zum Entnehmen greifen Sie mit Daumen und Zeigefinger den Haltegriff und ziehen Sie den Gehörschutz
aus dem Ohr. Alternativ können Sie den Gehörschutz durch leichtes Anheben mit dem Daumen von unten
lockern und anschließend mit Daumen und Zeigefinger (s. Skizze 2) aus dem Ohr entnehmen.
WARNUNG
A) Lärmeinwirkung auf das Gehör ohne Gehörschutz
Selbst der kurzzeitige Aufenthalt im Lärmbereich mit falsch eingesetztem oder ohne Gehörschutz kann
Hörschäden verursachen.
B) Zu geringe Schutzwirkung bei falsch im Ohr eingesetztem Gehörschutz
Betreten Sie den Lärmbereich erst dann mit Ihrem individuell für Sie angepassten Gehörschutz, wenn
Sie mit der Handhabung vertraut sind und der richtige Sitz im Gehörgang sichergestellt ist. Lassen Sie
sich das richtige Einsetzen z. B. vom Hersteller oder Lieferanten der Gehörschutz-Otoplastik oder Ihrem
Betriebsarzt zeigen. Zu Beginn kann die Handhabung vor einem Spiegel leichter eingeübt werden.
C) Handhabung und tägliche Überprüfung
Der Schallkanal muss mit dem Original-Edelstahldämmelement verschlossen sein und darf nur vom
Fachmann zu Reinigungs- oder Prüfzwecken entnommen werden. Bei fehlendem Edelstahldämmelement
darf der Gehörschutz im Lärmbereich nicht getragen werden! Bitte überprüfen Sie Ihren Gehörschutz
diesbezüglich täglich.
D) Dichtigkeitsverlust / Verringerung der Schutzwirkung
Anatomische Veränderungen der Ohrform können dazu führen, dass die Dichtigkeit der Ohrpassstücke
nachlässt, z. B. bei Gewichtsveränderung oder Ohroperationen. Ein sicherer Schutz wird nur erreicht,
wenn ein Fachberater die Gehörschutz-Otoplastik nach der Auslieferung und danach in regelmäßigen
Abständen von maximal drei Jahren überprüft.
E) Reduzierung der Wahrnehmung
Bitte berücksichtigen Sie, dass Sie bei eingesetztem Gehörschutz auch Signale in Ihrer Umgebung (z. B.
Warnsignale und Sprachsignale) leiser hören. Zusätzlich müssen die Bestimmungen zur Verwendung
von Gehörschutz im Straßenverkehr /Gleisoberbau / Eisenbahnbetrieb beachtet werden.
F) Verletzungsgefahr bei unsachgemäße Handhabung
Der Gehörschutz darf nicht an der Verbindungsschnur aus dem Ohr gezogen werden. Plötzliches oder
schnelles Entfernen des Gehörschutzstöpsels aus dem Gehörgang kann das Trommelfell beschädigen.
G) Risiko durch mitreißen des Gehörschutzes
Der Gehörschutz sollte nicht mit Verbindungsschnur getragen werden, wenn die Gefahr besteht, dass
sie sich während des Tragens verfängt oder mitgerissen wird. Wir empfehlen Ihnen die Schnur mit den
Befestigungsteilen vom Gehörschutz zu lösen. Bei Lösen der Verbindungsschnur, kann diese erneut
angebracht werden (siehe Befestigungsteile – Skizze 5).
H) Anschluss von Zusatzeinrichtungen
Als Gehörschutz darf nur der epro-X.A in Verbindung mit Zusatzprodukten (z. B. Dämmelementen) ver-
wendet werden, die zusammen mit dem epro-X.A baumustergeprüft sind. Weitere Informationen dazu
erhalten Sie von Ihrem Fachberater oder können beim Hersteller angefordert werden.
I) Hautunverträglichkeit
Der Gehörschutz wird ausschließlich aus jahrelang bewährten, geprüften und biokompatiblen Materialien
hergestellt. Sollten Sie trotzdem irgendwelche Beschwerden feststellen, legen Sie den Gehörschutz um-
gehend ab und informieren Sie Ihren Arzt, Fachberater oder Vorgesetzten.
J) Für Kleinkinder besteht Verschluckungsgefahr!
Das Produkt muss vor Kleinkinder unzugänglich aufbewahrt werden.
K) Alterung und Verschleiß
Gehörschutz-Otoplastik und Dämmelemente sind für tägliche Nutzung ausgelegt. Wir empfehlen jedoch
nach spätestens 6 Jahren eine neue Ersatz-Otoplastik anfertigen zu lassen. Das Dämmelement kann
ggf. nach erfolgreicher Funktionsprüfung weiterverwendet werden.
Aufbewahrung und Pflege
Dieses Produkt kann durch bestimmte chemische Substanzen leiden. Ihr Gehörschutz muss regelmäßig
gereinigt werden um ein Nachlassen der Schutzwirkung, Hautreizungen oder andere Ohrprobleme zu ver-
meiden. Verwenden Sie entweder spezielle Reinigungsprodukte des Herstellers oder mindestens Wasser
und Seife. Trocknen Sie den Gehörschutz vor dem erneuten Einsetzen vollständig ab. Verwenden Sie keine
chemischen Lösungsmittel, Scheuermittel oder Bürsten. Die Dämmelemente müssen fachmännisch ge-
reinigt werden. Weitere Informationen erhalten Sie vom Ihrem Ansprechpartner für Gehörschutz oder können
beim Hersteller angefordert werden. Bewahren Sie den epro-X.A im mitgelieferten Etui /Täschchen auf.
ACHTUNG
Diese Produkte dürfen nicht modifiziert bzw. geändert werden. Sollten die Hinweise aus dieser Anleitung
nicht eingehalten werden, kann die Schutzwirkung erheblich beeinträchtigt werden. Nur durch sorgfältige
Handhabung und ständiges Tragen des epro-X.A Gehörschutzes im Lärm, sichern Sie sich den bestmögli-
chen Schutz Ihres Gehörs. Wir empfehlen Ihnen daher dringend, den epro-X.A Gehörschutz entsprechend
diesen Hinweisen zu verwenden und zu pflegen.

User instructions for hearing protection epro-X.A
With your new, custom-made hearing protection epro-X.A you have decided to protect your hearing against
damaging or disturbing noise by using custom-made protectors. Your hearing protection device has been
manufactured to fit your ear perfectly and is guaranteed to offer you the highest possible wearing comfort.
The hearing protector is worn in the ear. It can be inserted with minimal effort, is highly compatible with other
protective equipment (e. g. protective glasses) and above all, is appropriate for long stays in noise zones.
Properly used, it protects you from hazardous noise. No other use is approved and is therefore not allowed.
We hope you enjoy it thoroughly!
Prior to using your hearing protection device
Please read these instructions carefully to familiarize yourself with the proper handling of the hearing pro-
tection device. Only if the following suggestions are adhered to can effective protection and the durability
of your hearing protectors be guaranteed. Keep these instructions in a safe place.

Your hearing protection device is equipped with a sound canal, which contains an attenuation element.
Depending on your requirements, you may use other attenuation elements, which can be purchased
from your specialist.
Inserting and removing your hearing protection device (see figure 2 to 4)
1. With clean hands, take the hearing protection epro-X.A out of the packaging.
2. Make sure that your entire hearing protectors have not been damaged and are clean. Do not insert a
damaged hearing protector in your ear; in case of damage, please contact your specialist.
3. Note the red and blue color marks on your hearing protectors:
red = protector for the right ear; blue = protector for the left ear.
4. Take the right protector into your right hand, the left protector into your left hand. Be sure to grasp the
protector from the bottom with your thumb and from the top with your index finger (figure 2).
5. Take the hearing protector to your ear without twisting it. Angling it from behind, insert it into the auditory
canal (figure 3). Be sure to insert the hearing protection device deeply enough and position it comfortably
(figure 4).
6. To facilitate the insertion of the protectors, we recommend using cedis care gel (see additional products).
7. To remove the hearing protector grasp the handle with your thumb and index finger and pull the protector
out of your ear. Alternatively you can free the hearing protector by lifting it slightly with your thumb and
then removing it from your ear with your thumb and index finger (see figure 2).
WARNING
A) Noise impact on hearing without hearing protection
Even a brief exposure to a high noise level while wearing improperly inserted hearing protectors or no
hearing protection devices at all may damage your hearing.
B) Protective effect that is too low when the hearing protector is incorrectly inserted in the ear
Only expose yourself to high noise levels while wearing your custom-made hearing protectors after you
are familiar with handling the protectors and inserting them properly into the auditory canal. Have the
correct use shown to you e. g. by the manufacturer or the supplier of the hearing protection earmold or
your physician. It may be helpful for beginners to practise the correct technique in front of a mirror.
C) Handling and daily checks
The sound canal must be sealed using the original stainless steel attenuation element, and may only be
removed by a specialist for the purposes of cleaning or testing. If the stainless steel attenuation element
is missing, do not wear the hearing protection devices in extreme noise levels! Please check your hearing
protector for this on a daily basis.
D) Leaking / reduced protective effect
Anatomical changes in the shape of the ear may lead to the deterioration in secure earmold fit, e. g. when
there is a change in weight or there have been ear operations. Safe protection is only achieved when a
specialist has tested the hearing protection earmold after it is delivered and then tests it again at regular
intervals of at most three years.
E) Reduced perception
Please consider: While wearing the hearing protection devices, the signals in the surrounding area will
also be muffled (e. g. warning signals). In addition, be sure to adhere to the regulations regarding the
use of hearing protection devices in road traffic / track superstructure / railway operation.
F) Risk of injury with improper handling
Do not pull the hearing protectors out of the ear by the connecting cord. Sudden or fast removal of the
ear plugs out of the auditory canal may damage the ear drum.
G) Risk of the hearing protector being pulled out.
These ear plugs should not be used where there is a risk that the connecting cord could be caught up
during use. We recommend detaching the connecting cord with the connecting fasteners from the hearing
protection device. After the connecting cord has been detached, it can only be reattached by inserting it
again (note the connecting fasteners in figure 5).
H) Connecting additional equipment
As a hearing protection device the epro-X.A may only be used in connection with additional products
(e. g. attenuation element) that have been type-tested with epro-X.A. More information is available from
your specialist or the manufacturer.
I) Skin reaction
The hearing protector is exclusively manufactured from materials that have been proven over the years,
tested and that are bio-compatible. If you were nonetheless to notice symptoms, remove the hearing
protector immediately and inform your doctor, specialist consultant or supervisors.
J) For small children there is a swallowing hazard!
The product must be kept out of reach of small children.
K) Ageing and wear
Custom made earmolds and attenuation elements are designed for daily use. However, we recommend
having a new spare earmold made after at most 6 years. If necessary, the attenuation element may
continue to be used after successful function testing.
Storage and care
This product may suffer if certain chemical substances are used. Your hearing protectors must be cleaned
regularly to avoid a decrease in its protective effectiveness, or the development of skin irritations or other
ear problems. Use either special cleaning products offered by the manufacturer or at least water and soap.
Dry the hearing protectors thoroughly before inserting them again. Do not use chemical solvents, abrasive
cleansers or brushes. The attenuation elements must be cleaned professionally. More information is available
from your hearing protection professional or the manufacturer. Store the epro-X.A in the case which is
included in delivery.
ATTENTION
These products may not be altered or modified. If the suggestions in these instructions are not adhered to,
the effectiveness of the hearing protection device may be affected considerably. Only by handling the hearing
protectors carefully and wearing the hearing protection epro-X.A continuously in extreme noise levels, are
you protecting your hearing as best as possible. Therefore, we urgently recommend using and maintaining
the hearing protection epro-X.A according to these suggestions.
