JUMBO Remote Control,
Wired
This compact, handheld remote
control lets you walk around your
layout and watch your trains while
you operate your JUMBO power
pack. The remote replicates the
major controls of the JUMBO:
throttle, loco direction, brake and
emergency stop. Now you can
use your JUMBO to power out-
door layouts: Place the JUMBO
indoors and control it from your
garden using the remote control.
Attention! The JUMBO Remote
Control is designed only for oper-
ation
with
JUMBO Power Pack. It cannot be
used with other LGB power sup-
plies.
Hint: The 50106 JUMBO Remote
Control replaces the older 50105
JUMBO Remote Control. They
are functionally identical.
OPERATION
Preparation
- Remove
the
jumper on the socket marked
"Fernbedienung" (Remote Con-
trol) on the back of the JUMBO
(Fig. 1).
Attention! Be careful not to lose
the jumper. The JUMBO works
only when either the jumper or the
remote control are plugged in.
- Plug the cable of the remote
control into the socket marked
"Fernbedienung" ("Remote Con-
trol") on the back of the
50100/50101 JUMBO Power
Pack (Fig. 1).
Attention! The cable can be
damaged by rough handling.
When disconnecting the tender,
do not pull on the cable. Pull on
the plug only.
Hint: The cable of the remote
control (length: 10m/30ft) can be
extended using a 9-pole interface
the
50100/50101
brass-colored
cable RS-232 (available at elec-
tronics stores), up to a total length
of 30 m (100 ft).
Operation
Set the speed control of the
JUMBO Power Pack to "0."
Now you can use the remote con-
trol to operate speed as well as
four functions of the connected
JUMBO (Fig. 2):
F1: Throttle/track voltage
F2A: Forward
F2B: Reverse
F3: Stop with pre-programmed
braking
F4: Emergency Stop
Hints:
- For additional information, see
the instructions included with
the 50100/50101 JUMBO Power
Pack.
- You also can use the buttons on
the JUMBO itself to control your
trains (even if the remote control
is connected).
