Thank you for purchasing the Bright Star Responder PRO Series Right Angle LED flashlight. Proudly assembled in the USA. The Responder
Right Angle LED flashlight is an intrinsically safe light for use in hazardous locations, It is tested in accordance with UL protection methods.

Operating Instructions
Proper care of your new light is essential in order to get a long dependable life of service. Please take some time to review this instruction sheet
before using your new flashlight.
The flashlight comes with either a standard alkaline battery tray (4 AA cells not included) or a rechargeable Li-Ion battery pack. No charger is
needed for the alkaline battery pack. The alkaline batteries supply 5 hours of continuous runtime, and the Li-Ion battery pack provides 4 hours of
continuous runtime with a 4 hour charge. Either battery pack can be used with the flashlight, please note the differences in certifications for each
battery pack.
ALKALINE VERSION INSTRUCTIONS: The alkaline battery pack accommodates (4) AA batteries as show in Figure 1.
To access the tray, loose the door screw on the bottom of the flashlight as shown in Figure 2, door will open on hinge point away from housing.
Pull out the battery tray and holding the bottom of the tray, slide the top cover back, as shown in Figure 3. Insert the batteries as shown in Figure
1, and slide the top tray closed. Insert the battery tray into the flashlight with the arrow pointing towards the opening.
Re-attach bottom cover and tighten screws to maintain the waterproof rating of the light. Your new light is ready use.
LI-ION VERSION INSTRUCTIONS:
The rechargeable battery pack inside the Responder PRO Right Angle LED is designed to be charged inside the flashlight. Removing the Li-Ion
battery pack from the light is not necessary. Simply slide the light onto the charger base until the light snaps in place. The light is held firmly in
place.

Once the flashlight is in the charging base, the charging indicator on the front of the light will turn RED, indicating the unit is charging. In order to
get the longest runtime out of your Responder Right Angle LED, leave the flashlight on the charger until the charging indicator turns green.
Once the charging indicator has turned green and you are ready to use the flashlight, remove the light from the base by pressing down the latch
below the light and simultaneously pushing the head of the light towards the back of the charger until the base of the light clears the charger
latch.

EMERGENCY LIGHT MODE – RECHARGEABLE MODELS ONLY
Rechargeable models of Responder PRO Right Angle LED Flashlight come equipped standard with an emergency light feature when coupled
with the charger. This emergency light feature will allow your LED flashlight to turn on in the event of a power interruption between the light and
the charger, such as a power outage.
To activate emergency light mode, first turn your Responder PRO Right Angle LED flashlight on. Next, place the light into the charger. The main
LED will turn off, and charging will begin as normal. In the event of a power disruption, the main LED will turn on. Once power is restored, the
main LED will turn off and charging will resume.
If light is not turned on before placing in charger, emergency light mode will not activate. If you do not wish to use emergency light
mode, place light in charger with LED turned off.
Notes
1. When in emergency light mode, light will also turn on when first removed from charger.
2. If battery is completely discharged, charge battery briefly in order to turn main LED on before placing in charger to
use emergency light mode.
Alkaline and LI-ION Version Operation:
A push-button switch on the side of the flashlight near the top, shown in Figure 8, turns the light on and off and changes between modes. A
coat/belt clip allow for hands-free operation. The first switch press will turn the light on in high mode, the 2
low mode, press and hold the button to engage flashing mode.

WARNING - Do not use any charger base or battery pack, other than the approved Koehler-Bright Star products.

Warning – Do not use a damaged charger base or flashlight. Do not try to repair or service a damaged charger base or flashlight.
Should your charger fail to operate, contact Koehler-Bright Star Service department at 570-825-1900.
• Do not place any metal objects on the charger base contacts
• Do not submerge the charger base in water. Unplug the charger base before attempting any cleaning.
• Do not clean the flashlight with harsh chemicals, use only mild detergent and water.
• Do not dispose of the Li-Ion battery pack in fire, the battery may cause serious injuries

Use of this product for any other purpose than a flashlight is prohibited.
Limited Lifetime Warranty: The Responder PRO Right Angle LED and all internal parts have a lifetime-limited warranty to be free of
manufacturing defects for a lifetime of use except for batteries, bulbs, abuse, misuse, accidents, improper installation and normal wear*. In our
discretion, we will repair, replace or refund the purchase price of this product should we determine it to be defective. This limited lifetime warranty
also excludes rechargeable batteries, chargers, switches and electronics which have a 2-year warranty with proof of purchase.
