VIR 25A to 90A
These interior electric heaters are designed
to provide backup heat or complementary
heat for VIR units. The on and off cycles of
same are controlled by the air conditioning
unit itself. These should be fastened to the
interior supports of the indoor unit.

Installation
Install the electric heater in the VIR unit as
follows:
) The established national regulations
should be followed in all cases.
2) Disconnect power supply to the air con-
ditioning unit.
3) Assemble the magneto thermal and
differential switches for the heater in
compliance with the indications shown
in the General Characteristics table and
the Wiring Diagrams.
4) Remove the access covers to the con-
trols of the VCH unit.
5) Unpack the accessory, opening the box
at the top. Make sure that the heater as-
sembly was not damaged during trans-
portation. Check the ceramic insulation
and make sure the heater wires are not
in contact with metal parts.
6) Remove the side covers of the VIR unit
and fit the electric heater on the two verti-
cal supports on the coil, aligning the tab
with the drilled hole (VIR 25A and 40A).

- Galvanised sheet casing and supports.
- Uncovered nickel-chrome electric resist-
ances on steatite supports.
- Control board of auxiliary heater A3 (A3
and A4 in 2 stages).
- Power contactor with a 24 V coil.
- Two heat switches located at the top of the
heater. The first is reset automatically and
disconnects same when the temperature
reaches 77° C. The second one, acces-
sible from the interior and of manual rest,
disconnects the heater when the tempera-
ture reaches 38° C. The 2-stage heaters

On models VIR 25A and 40A, fit the elec-
tric heater on the tray guide and fasten
to the fan with the side sheets, and the
tray guide with the self-threading screws
supplied. Make sure the reset button of
heat switch F9 (F9 and F for 2 stages)
is accessible and at the top.
See Assembly and General Dimensions
Diagram.
7) Mount the control support on the side
of the machine, inside the electric box,
depending on the VIR unit, and fasten
with the screws supplied.
8) Install board A3 (A3 and A4 in 2 stages)
in the electric box of the VCH unit. Then
connect hoses W, W2 (W, W2, W3
and W4 in 2 stages), supplied with the
accessory, between connecting strip X2
and the control board of the VCH unit to
the VIR unit. Connect the power cables
to connecting strip X of the VIR unit
(F2 automatic switch or F2 automatic
switch in 2 stages). See corresponding
wiring diagram per model.

lay.
The control system of the unit does not
allow the heater to operate in the case a
failure of the indoor fan heat switch.

9) The installer must complete the operat-
ing wiring of the heater by fitting air flow
switch F4 (F4 and F5 in 2-stage) at
the most convenient point of the conduc-
tors to assure operation of the heater
when there is sufficient air flow only.
0) Power the VCH/VIR unit and the heat-
er.
) To configure the accessory, press and
hold the test button on control board A
for over 2 seconds, until the red LED on
the board goes on. Configuration will be
completed when said red LED goes off.
2) Check connection and operation of the
heater by selecting the Emergency Heat
function on the ambient thermostat of the
air conditioning unit.
3) Replace the covers on the VCH/VIR
units.
Note: Should the system respond incorrect-
ly, see the Operating section of the Instal-
