Instruction for assembly and use
Assembly
1. Place the pressure treated wood post (1) on the floor with the longest side
upwards. Place a trough (2) on each side of the wood post.
2. Use the long bolt sets (3). First, slide the long bolts with one washer through the
lower holes in one of the troughs, thereafter through the designated holes in the
wood post, and finally through the lower holes in the other trough. Add washers
and nuts. Tighten the nuts.
3. Use the short bolt sets (4). First, slide the short bolts with one washer through
the upper holes in one of the troughs, thereafter through the eyes of the eye-
bolts, and finally through the upper holes of the other trough. Add washers and
nuts. Tighten the nuts whilst ensuring the threaded part of the eyebolts turns
upwards.
4. Place the rubber cover (5) so that the threaded parts of the eyebolts are sticking
through the designated holes in it.
5. Similarly, place the plastic piece (6) over the eyebolts. Add the remaining two
washers and nuts (7) to the eyebolts and tighten the nuts.
Use
The feeder is only for use outdoors, on grazing areas. Place it where it is easy to
inspect and re-fill it, preferably near the watering place.
The mineral feeder is meant for mineral feed supplements, which according to
the manufacturer is intended for free-choice supplementation.
The feeder is ideal for loose, dry mineral supplements. It is designed so that it
also provides a good fixation for buckets with molassed minerals, either squared
or round buckets, which in that way stands protected from rain, sun and wind.
For optimal and intended consumption, do only fill with an amount of mineral
feed supplements that will stay fresh until they are consumed.
Move the mineral feeder 10-15 meters now and then to avoid the animals' da-
mage of the grass sward around it.
It is possible to anchor the mineral feeder by drilling a hole for fixing soil spikes
at each end of the wooden post.
Using the wooden post as a sled, the feeder can be pulled to another grazing
area with for instance a tractor or an ATV, using a piece of rope or similar atta-
ched to the hole in one end of the wooden post. The sledging should happen at
low speed on level ground and with an empty feeder.
