Read these directions for use carefully before using.
Keep these directions for use where they will be
accessible for all users.
Failure to comply with the directions for use shall
render all warranty conditions null and void and
may lead to personal injury and material damage.
The instrument must only be used by qualified
skilled employees.
Safety instructions before using
The instrument is used for safely collecting small
amounts (< 100 ml) of spilt mercury.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety
instructions of the chemical producer.
WARNING!
Damage to the respiratory tract and other organs
due to escaping gases and liquids.
Use the instrument only under a suitable
exhaust hood and in a temperature range from
10° to 40° C.
Wear appropriate protective clothing.
Layout and function
The mercury collector consists of a screw-on nozzle
made of polypropylene (PP) into which a mercury sepa-
ration disc made of PP is inserted. A special plastic
foam insert made of PUR polyether is used.
Point out any damage in the packaging to the freight
forwarder/supplier immediately.
Safe use
CAUTION!
Before using the container, perform a visual
inspection for damage and check the plastic foam
insert to ensure it is properly seated and in good
condition.
If there is any damage, replace before using.
Contact the dealer or manufacturer.

1. Collect the spilt mercury by lightly dabbing with the
cover.
2. Press or turn the cover to wipe off the mercury on
the separation disc. (Steps 1 to 2 can be repeated
until all of the mercury is collected.)
3. Close the tub securely after collecting the mercury.
4. Hold the tub horizontal and set it down on a stra-
ight, non-slip base.
5. Put the mercury you collected back in the original
container or dispose of it properly.
CAUTION!
The disc insert is loose. It can fall out and squirt
mercury as it does so.
Always hold the tub horizontal.
Do not store the mercury in the tub.
For brief transport, close the tub securely.
After usage
Empty the mercury collector after use until there is
no residue.
When the mercury collector is placed in storage,
there must be no more residue of mercury present.
If necessary replace the plastic foam insert.
