They can be fitted inside ceiling-mounting luminaires, modules or trunking at a maximum temperature of 40°, thus allowing any light point to be enabled simply and quickly in the place it is
required when an emergency arises.
The kits are made in conformity to standards EN 61347-2-7.
- Make the kit connections according to the attached diagrams.
- Connect the battery to the power supply unit taking great care over the polarity of the connector.
- Locate the battery as far away as possible from heat sources (especially not alongside the power supply unit).
- Position the power supply as far away as possible from heat sources (in particular, not near the ballast).
- Check that the thermal limits of the components have been observed.
- After installation has been completed, the battery must be recharged for at least 24 hours for 3-5 cycles so that the system can operate with the stated autonomy.
- The system must be powered exclusively by the battery provided and not associated to external recharging devices.
- Replace the batteries every 4 years or after about 500 discharge and recharge cycles.
- Disconnect all power supplies, including the battery, before any maintenance operation.
WARNING:
If the device remains inactive for a long period of time, to ensure correct operation it is necessary to periodically recharge the battery (at least once every 4 months) and configure the device in
"REST MODE" at the start of every idle period.

MAINS CONNECTIONS
Carefully read the content of this "Instruction Sheet" before connecting the appliance to the system. Connect terminals L-N to the mains, which must never be interrupted: the emergency cuts in
automatically whenever there is a failure or drop in the mains power supply.
Connection to the KNX system must be done respecting polarity. For system construction, refer to the KNX specifications.
INSTALLATION
• Make the required connections.
• Power up the product and the BUS KNX.
• The first installation is signalled by the three colours leds on the appliance until ETS (Eiba Tool Software) is configured.
Note: When powered for the first time, the tri-colour LED may not turn on for a few minutes due to an insufficient battery charge.
The EIB kit functions as BASIC emergency if it is not connected to the KNX BUS. After the BUS is initially powered, the kit will initiate the factory default mode and the emergency status will
not be available until the EIB configuration is completed.
PROGRAMMING PHYSICAL ADDRESS
Programming is done in the following way:
Programming button
When activated, the programming button communicates to the start-up software (ETS) that the device is ready to program the physical address. The device will signal this condition by the active red
LED (=on). By pressing the programming button, you can also check whether bus voltage is present on the device. On pressing it for the second time, the LED goes off again.
Red Led
Active Led (=on): the programming button has been pressed. Once the programming procedure is completed, the LED turns off automatically. Using the ETS, this LED can be activated or disconnected
in a targeted way. The device can also be identified (correlation of physical address/device).
SELF-DIAGNOSIS
The appliance carries out a complete operating self-diagnostic test and a complete runtime self-diagnostic test only after a command sent by the supervisory system.
Test description
• functional test: the fluorescent tube is checked.
• battery test: the charge status of the battery is checked.
When a test begins, the lamp turns on and the LED flashes green (test in progress).
On completion of this step, which takes about 3 minutes for the functional test and 1 to 3 hours for the battery test depending on the product, the lamp switches off and the LED takes on the color
corresponding to the test outcome (see table).
