M@ How to Recall the Preset Memory
(R1-R5, M1 -M5)
The factory-preset equalizer patterns (Reference patterns)
R1-R5
and modifiable
equalizer patterns (Manual
pat-
terns) M1 — M5 are stored in memory in this unit, and each
of them can be recalled in a following manner.
1. To
recall
the
preset
equalizer
pattern
among
five
Reference patterns, press any of R1 to R5 keys.
@ The REFERENCE
indicator lights in left display win-
dow.
© The triangle indicator 'W'' above the memory select
indicators shows the equalizer pattern recalled.
® When any of R1 —R5 keys is pressed in the spectrum
analyzer mode, the graphic equalizer display appears
for about
5 seconds,
then
the spectrum
analyzer
resumes.
2. To
recall the modifiable
preset
pattern
among
five
Manual patterns, press any of the M1 to M5 keys.
@The
MANUAL
indicator
appears
on
right
display
window.
@ The triangle indicator ""W'' above the memory select
indicators shows the equalizer pattern recalled.
Five reference memories, from R1 to R5, allow you
to recall each of the following types of equalizer
curves.
R1: For rock or fusion music, etc.
Used when more powerful and dynamic sound
is required.
R2: For jazz music in the 50's style, etc.
Used when an old-fashioned style is required.
R3: For vocal music, etc.
Used when listening to vocal music of various
types. The human voice comes forward and the
vocal sound can be fully enjoyed.
R4: For soft and smooth sound
Used when listening to music for an extended
period of time, or in the night. A harshless
mellow sound will be obtained.
R5: For sharp and crisp sound
Used when
listening to music
in detail. The
sound
edge
and
details will be clearly per-
ceived.
@ How to Preset Manual Memory
Patterns
Up to 5 equalizer patterns adjusted as required can be
stored in memory and recalled at any time.
1. Press the DISPLAY
key so that the graphic equalizer
display appears.
2. Set the equalizer level control keys as required.
3. Press the MEMO
key.
@ The MEMORY
indicators light up on right display
window.
4. Within about 5 seconds after pressing the MEMO
key,
press any of the M1 —MB5 keys in which you want to
store.
@ The
triangle
"W"
indicator
appears
above
one
of
[1]-[5]
indicators
corresponding
to the
button
pressed, showing that the adjusted equalizer pattern
has been stored in memory.
Note:
When the equalizer level control key is pressed with the spectrum
analyzer indication displayed, the display will be changed to the
graphic equalizer indication for about 5 seconds.
@ Recording the Equalized Sound
1. Perform steps 1 through 3 in "Equalized Playback".
@ With the Reference equalizer patterns (R1 — R6), re-
cording of the equalized sound can be done easily.
2. Set the tape deck to the recording mode.
® The source signal selected by the input selector of
the amplifier will be tailored via the equalizer pattern
appeared on the display, then recorded on the tape
deck.
M@ Microphone
Mixing
1. Plug the microphone into the MIC jacks.
2. Adjust the mixing volume with the MIC MIXING con-
trol.
e The
input source
selected
by an amplifier wil be
mixed with the sound from the microphone,
regard-
less of the setting of the power switch of this unit (ON
or OFF (STAND BY)).
3. To record the sound picked up by the microphoneonly,
turn the MIC MIXING
control fully clockwise (toyward
MIC), set the amplifier's input selector switch io an
input to which nothing is connected.
Notes:
1. Equalizer effect cannot be applied to the signal picked 1p via
microphone.
2. With the MIDI system, dubbing the sound
from
Deck A to
Deck B while microphone mixing is impossible.
