In the event of technical problems or other queries, please contact our
Customer Services.
Things to consider:
• Other wireless equipment using the same frequency band can
reduce the transmission range.
• The range of all wireless equipment depends on the type of obstacles
located between the transmitter and the receiver (e.g. a concrete wall
will interfere with the signal more than a plasterboard wall).
• The system works on a frequency of 2.4 GHz. Other household
products which often use the same frequency are wireless
networks (WiFi), wireless audio transmitters, wireless cameras and
microwave ovens.
If you experience problems, try the following:
• Turn off any other existing wireless equipment to check whether
this is the cause of the problem.
• Reposition the wireless equipment, shorten the distance between
the transmitter and the receiver or reduce the number of obstacles
(walls, furniture, etc.) between them.

Inserting batteries
1. Remove the battery cover on the back of
the remote control and insert 1 × CR2450
battery (sold separately).
2. Make sure that the positive (+) terminal is
facing upwards, towards you.
3. Refit the battery cover.
Note: To save battery power, the remote control automatically enters
sleep mode after 15–20 seconds of inactivity. The remote control is
activated by pressing any button.
Instructions for use
Pairing the remote control with a light bulb
Note: The remote control is only compatible with bulbs in the Smart
Light series: GLS bulb (36-6868), reflector bulb GU10 (36-6869) or
golf ball bulb (36-6870). Standard LED bulbs cannot be controlled
using the Smart Light remote control.
1. Make sure that the power switch of the light fitting that you want to
use is set to OFF.
2. Fit a Smart Light bulb into the light fitting.
3. Switch the bulb on using the power switch of the light fitting.
4. Hold in one of the channel buttons until the bulb flashes.
Note: The selected channel button must be held in within 5
seconds from the time that the light bulb has been switched on.
5. The light bulb is now paired with the remote control.
You can now:
• Press the power switch on the remote control to switch the light bulb
on/off (provided that the power switch of the light fitting is set to ON).
• Dim and change the colour temperature of the light bulb using
the touch controls on the remote control. You can slide your finger
across the touch control or touch the control in the desired place.
• Continue pairing additional light bulbs. You can e.g. connect
4 table lamps. You can pair them individually, or if you can control
them with the same light switch, pair all 4 simultaneously.
• Pair the remote with ceiling spotlights in the same way.
The spotlights can all be connected to the same channel or on
separate channels. Example: You have 8 ceiling spotlights which
are controlled by the same light switch. Unscrew 4 of the bulbs,
switch the remaining 4 on and pair them with channel 1. Switch
the light switch off, screw in the remaining 4 bulbs, switch the lights
back on and pair them with channel 2.
Note: The Smart Light remote control and bulbs retain their settings
even when they are de-energised by having been switched off by
an external circuit breaker or power cut. When the bulbs are switched
on they will have the same colour temperature and lumen level as
before they were switched off.
Switching all connected light bulbs on/off simultaneously
• You can switch off all connected light bulbs on all channels at
the same time by holding in [
] (3) until the bulbs go out.
• You can not switch on all the light bulbs again by holding in [
To switch the bulbs on:
1. Press the desired channel button. The light bulbs paired with that
channel will flash once.
2. Press [
] to switch on. Note: You might need to press the button
twice depending on whether the button transmits an on- or off-signal.
Unpairing the light bulb with the remote control
1. Cut the power to the light bulb using the light switch.
2. Turn the electricity back on.
3. Press channel button 1 repeatedly in quick succession until
the light bulb comes on. The pairing has now been cancelled.
Note: The selected channel button must be pressed within 5
seconds from the time that the power has been switched on.
Note: Every light bulb which is switched on at the same time is unpai-
red regardless of which channel they are on.
Unpairing without the remote control
Switch the light fitting on and off quickly several times using the light
switch until the light bulb shines at full brightness. The light bulb is now
unpaired from the remote control.
