Power Inverter
INV 110 DC-AC
The power inverter is ideally suited for
computers (PCs, notebooks, etc.), radios, videos,
TV, SAT systems, battery charging devices and all
other devices up to a permanent output of 110 W.
The 12V cigarette lighter plug can be tilted between
+30° and +90° to allow easy use in nearly all vehicles.
Protection features
Voltage monitoring
Prevents total discharging of the battery by cutting out
if the voltage is too low (red LED shines).
The device switches off and the LED shines red if the
max. allowed incoming voltage is exceeded.
Overload protection
The red LED shines if the max. allowed output is exceeded
and the device switches off automatically.
Cross-wiring protection
There is a 20A glass fuse fitted in the 12V plug.
Temperature control
The installed ventilator ensures that the power inverter is cooled. However if the temperature exceeds +70°, the device switches off
automatically and the red LED shines. (Allow device to cool down before used again.)
The device will work again after it has been switched off and then on again.
Connection of the unit
1. Insert the cigarette lighter plug into the +12V cigarette lighter socket.
2. Connect the 230V consumers to the power inverter.
3. The consumer should work without a problem – the green LED shines.
Comments
• When disconnecting the consumer from the power supply, ensure that it is switched off before disconnecting the power inverter.
• As the power inverter can also be operated when the engine is not running, it is recommended running the vehicle's motor
now and again to avoid the battery from discharging.
• If the green LED does not shine despite the fact that there is power, the fuse in the device should be checked. If necessary replace the
fuse with one of the same type; to change the fuse, disconnect the device from the power source and open the screwed fuse section on the
cigarette lighter plug.
• The power inverter changes the AC outgoing voltage so that the voltage shown by a voltmeter is approx. 20 V too low. The correct voltage
is only determined if measurements are taken with "True- RMS".
• The power inverter should be disconnected from the power supply if it is not used for longer periods or whilst the vehicle's battery is being
charged.
• When operated with TVs or other display appliances, there may be visible interference, although this has no effect on the appliance itself.
To avoid this, position the power inverter as far away as possible from the unit, use screened aerial cables and ensure that the signal is
strong enough.
• The output information specified for 230V appliances is usually just an average value. Often when some appliances are started, much more
output is required which can activate the overload safeguard in the power inverter and cause it to be switched off.
Caution
• Only connect fully functional appliances and observe the max. output information to avoid short-circuits.
• All connections need to be made very carefully and any repairs may only be performed by qualified personnel – the device generates life-
threatening voltage levels!
• The power inverter should only be used in well ventilated places and should not be allowed to come into contact with humidity or dirt.
• Keep the power inverter away from other heat sources.
• This is not a toy – use and keep out of the reach of children.
• Ensure that during operation the cooling elements and the ventilation slits are not covered.
• If the LED display changes to red, the protection function is activated. Check the function of the consumer and only reconnect if it works
perfectly.
• After long periods of use at a high output level, the power inverter may be switched off by the temperature control for safety reasons. After
it has cooled down it can be used again without restriction.
• Do not connect any large engines, transformers etc. to the device as this could cause damage.
