Thank you for purchasing this gooseneck microphone. The SHC-2 is specially
designed for conferences, public speeches and lectures. It is equipped with a
back-electret condenser capsule for bright and clear sound and guarantees
excellent speech intelligibility even at greater distances. Delivery includes a
switchable desktop base. The base uses a standard balanced XLR connector.
Operation is possible either via phantom power or 9 V battery.
Please read these operating instructions carefully before using the product. They
contain important information for the correct use of your product. Please keep
them for future reference.

Only use the product according to the instructions given herein. Damages due

assume any liability for any resulting damage.

the warranty will be null and void.
Unauthorized rebuilds or modifications of the product are not permitted for

reasons of safety and render the warranty invalid.
This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children. Do not leave

packaging material lying around carelessly.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Protect it from extreme
Ÿ
temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity, moisture, flammable
gases, vapors and solvents.
This product is maintenance-free, except for occasional cleaning. You can use
Ÿ
a slightly dampened cloth for cleaning.
Never open the product. If this product is no longer working properly or is
Ÿ
visibly damaged, take it out of operation and consult your local dealer. Do not
attempt to repair the product yourself.
Do not try to short-circuit, recharge, disassemble or heat batteries (danger of
Ÿ
explosion!). Remove the batteries if the device is not used for a longer period of
time. Damaged/leaking batteries may cause harm to your skin–use safety
gloves.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
When to be definitively put out of operation, take the product to a local
recycling plant for a disposal which is not harmful to the environment.
Devices marked with this symbol must not be disposed of as household
waste. Contact your retailer or local authorities for more information. Remove
any inserted batteries and dispose of them separately from the product.
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all
used batteries/rechargeable batteries. Disposing of them in the household
waste is prohibited. You may return your used batteries free of charge to
collection points in your municipality and anywhere where batteries/
rechargeable batteries are sold. By disposing of used devices and batteries
correctly, you contribute to the protection of the environment.

USE
Danger of short circuit! Only use the microphone with the included base. Never
connect an audio unit directly to the microphone.
Operation is either via phantom power or a 9 V battery. Before using phantom
power, remove an inserted battery. Otherwise, the product may be damaged!
Insert the microphone into the base. Connect the base via a balanced
Ÿ
microphone cable with 3-pin XLR plug to the XLR microphone input equipped
with +48 V phantom power of your audio unit (e.g. mixing console).
If the audio unit does not provide phantom power, insert a 9 V battery into the
Ÿ
base. Simply lift the cover at the bottom, connect the battery to the terminals
observing the correct polaritity and carefully replace the cover. Remove the
battery should you wish to operate the microphone by phantom power!
Attach the windshield to protect the capsule from moisture.

Adjust the microphone to the sound source or speaker.
