DIALLING
DTMF/TONE is the default dialling mode.

PULSE Dialling
With the connected to a live line,
DigAlert 36x
press p PULSE before selecting t
mode. This is confirmed by a single high
beep. Dialling mode will automatically revert
to Tone when the line is disconnected or if
is switched off.

Mixed Pulse and Tone dialling
Select Pulse mode as above and dial the
Pulse digits. Press * (Tone) then dial the
Tone digits (the star will not be dialled out).
This can be stored in memory.
Storing a number in memory

STO MEM
There are ten memory locations, one under
each of the dialling digits.
While connected to a line and in TALK
mode:
Press S STO on the keypad. Enter the
telephone number.
Press r MEM . Press the storage button
location 0-9.
The number is stored under the button
chosen. ln memory you may also store ,#,
f Flash or l Pause . These will be
redialled as they were entered.
Dialling a number from a memory
location.
While connected to a line and in TALK
mode:
Press r MEM then the location digit 0-9.
The stored number under that button will be
redialled.

LNR/PAUSE: Last Number
Redial and Pause
Press l LNR/PAUSE immediately after
off-hook to redial the previous number dialled.
During dialling, if you press l LNR/PAUSE
the Pause function operates. This inserts a 4
second pause in the dialling out string.
Dialling resumes at the end of the pause.

FLASH
A timed line break is generated when the
f FLASH button is pressed.
P
POL: POLARITY TEST
Press P POL and observe the polarity
LED.
RED LED: red lead is connected to A (+Ve).
GREEN LED: red lead is connected to B(-Ve).
Talk
During this test,
DigAlert 36x
impedance and will not interfere with data or
speech calls.

SPKR: HANDS-FREE MODE
Press s SPKR to activate and deactivate
the hands-free function. If
pressed while
DigAlert 36x
speaker Monitor is automatically activated.
Press and release v VOL
receive volume setting, press again to return
to the normal setting.
In TALK mode, two way hands-free is
possible thanks to its hands-free microphone
located at the base of the keypad area. The
microphone is normally muted (Centre LED
flashes Green ), press the
t
the Mute, and activate transmission.
USING HANDS-FREE IN THE BEST
POSSIBLE CONDITIONS
does not cut-off the beginning of
DigAlert 36x
words, it switches smoothly and silently, and
adapts its settings to cope with the ambient
noise, so that no adjustments are necessary.
* For bests results, stay close to the hands-free
microphone (base of keypad) and only use
the VOL key if the receive level is too low

After disconnection from the line for more
than 5 minutes,
DigAlert 36x
switches off to preserve the battery, and the
time-out tone is heard.
Ground-start lines
On units fitted with optional third wire
(item M0023/15): connect green wire to
ground, press TALK momentarily and check t
for dial tone. Ground start is then automatic
and the green wire can be left connected to
ground, without affecting the call.
ELR: Earth Loop Recall
On units fitted with optional third wire
(item M0023/15): while in TALK mode on a
looped line and with the green wire to ground,
press p PULSE momentarily and check for
second dial tone.

Digital signal detection OVERRIDE
When connected to normal DC, it is possible to
override the digital detection lock-out by pressing
automatically
and holding tTALK
until the override tones have stopped. This can be
particularly useful on a faulty line being highly
imbalanced.
