INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
The manufacturer's information must be read and well understood by the user before using the
device. Check that the device has been supplied intact, in its original packaging and with the
relative information from the manufacturer. For devices sold in countries other than the original
destination, the distributor must verify and provide the translation of this information.
Warnings
This device must only be used by persons who are trained to use it (informed and trained).
It can also be used in combination with other devices, subject to verification by the user of
compatibility with the relevant manufacturer information. It is absolutely forbidden to modify
and/or repair this device. Avoid exposing the device to heat sources and contact with chemical
substances. Minimise direct exposure to the sun, especially for textile and plastic devices.
Low temperatures and humidity can facilitate the formation of ice, reduce flexibility, increase
fragility and the risk of breakage, cuts and abrasion.
Maintenance and storage
Wash the device by hand in warm water (30-32°C) with neutral detergent (pH 5.5-8.5) and
let it air dry, avoiding direct exposure to the sun and heat sources. Disinfect the device by
immersing it for at least 30 minutes in warm water (58-60°C) and allow it to air dry, avoiding
direct exposure to the sun and heat sources; alternatively, place it for at least 7 days in a well-
ventilated place, avoiding direct exposure to the sun and heat sources. Do not bleach, do not
wash in a washing machine, do not spin-dry, do not tumble dry, do not iron and avoid sterilising
textile devices in an autoclave. Store in dry (relative humidity 40-90%), cool (temperature
5-30°C), dark, well-ventilated places, away from sharp edges, chemicals and other harmful
conditions. Transport the device by adopting the precautions envisaged for storage and
limiting direct exposure to sunlight.
Duration
The indication of the maximum useful life of the devices is determined considering the type of
materials, the structure of the device and its intended use. The useful life of metallic devices
is theoretically unlimited. For devices subject to ageing (e.g. textile, plastic or with significant
textile/plastic components), unless otherwise indicated in the respective instructions, the date
after which the device must be replaced is calculated after 10 years from first use and in any
case no later than 12 years from date of manufacture. The following conditions significantly
reduce the useful life of the device:
- incorrect, intense use or use in aggressive environments (saline, extreme temperatures -
below -30°C or above +50°C for plastic parts/devices and/or textiles and at +120°C for metal
devices - in contact with chemical substances);
- storage in conditions other than those defined in the manufacturer's information;
- little or no maintenance.
SPECIFIC INFORMATION
HARIA is a harness for medium-sized dogs (German Shepherd-Greyhound, Border Collie,
Belgian Shepherd-Malinoise, Labrador and Golden Retriever) weighing up to 50 kg, designed
for suspension in helicopter activities and on rough terrain.
How to harness the dog
- Put the front part (A) over the dog's head and fasten the buckles (D) - (fig. 1);
- tighten the webbing using the buckles (C and D);
- position the rear part (B) by threading the paws through the leg loops (F) (fig. 2);
- connect the rear part (B) with the front part (A) using the quick-release buckle (H) (fig. 3);
- tension all the webbing, adapting the harness to the size of the dog (fig. 4).
Warning:
During suspended operations and on rough terrain, the dog must be fully harnessed (both front
and back - fig. 5). The use of the front part only (fig. 6) is only permitted for ground operations.

Checks before and after use
Before and after use, make sure that the device is in an efficient condition and that it is working
properly, in particular, check that:
- textile parts do not have cuts, burns, chemical residues, excessive hair, wear, in particular
check the areas in contact with metal components (buckles, rings, etc.);
- stitching are intact, and there are no cut or loose threads;
- metal parts are free of cracks, corrosion, mechanical deformation and that any wear and tear
is only of an aesthetic nature;
- buckles work correctly (adjusting, closing and locking);
- markings, including labels, are legible.
