Product Description
Electric energy is fed into SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES when a motor
is decelerated. In order to prevent overvoltage tripping, a braking
resistor is used to convert this energy into heat. This resistor may be a
part of the braking unit or it is connected to it.
The braking unit is connected to the DC bus terminals of the drive.
When the DC bus voltage reaches a pre-defined limit, the braking unit
automatically turns on and prevents the DC bus voltage from continuing
to increase.
The braking unit operates autonomously. The power supply of the
electronics is integrated in the unit.
The braking unit is available in three frame sizes.
