Strip the connecting wires to a length of 6 mm, insert them into the screw terminals as far as
they will go in, and secure them so that they will not slip out while tightening the screw. After
tightening the screws, verify that the wires to the terminals are tightly connected.
Signal connections
Direct connection: Solid or stranded conductors with end ferrules
for cross-sections of 0.13 mm
Use copper conductors only!
The data cable for X.21 or G703.1 interface has to be at least of the type S/UTP (Screened
Unshielded Twisted Pair). An S/UTP-cable consists of a plastic sheath and a full length
screen which contain the cores stranded in pairs. The screen may be a copper braid or
aluminium foil or both.
A type S/FTP (Screened Foil Twisted Pair) cable may also be used. This type of data cable
has an additional metallic foil around the cores stranded in pairs.
