4.3 Removing a disc
Press the eject button on the front of the connected drive.
The tray then opens.
Pull the tray out.
Place a fi nger in the centre of the drive spindle and, at the
same time, lift the disc out with your thumb at the outer edge
of the disc.
Push the tray back into the drive until it locks into place.
4.4 Emergency eject
This external drive has a manual eject function which can be
used to manually eject a disc in case of emergency.
In this type of situation (e.g. during a power cut), proceed as
follows:
Important:
This function should only be used in an emergency!
1. For your own safety, switch off the PC or laptop and
disconnect from the power supply.
2. Unplug the USB cable from the drive.
3. Insert a small object (e.g. a bent paper clip) into the small
opening beside the eject button (indicated as "4" in the
"Control" menu item). The tray then opens slightly.
4. Open the tray completely and remove the disc.
5. Push the tray back into the drive until it locks into place.
Important:
Only use this function in an emergency as a last resort.
Excessive use of this function may cause malfunctions to the
drive.
Safety instructions:
- Do not operate the device in damp or dusty environments.
- Keep the device away from sources of heat.
- There are no serviceable parts in the device.
Therefore, it is not necessary to open it.
- Do not move the drive during operation and avoid pressure
and impact.
