First use

■ Oil the non-stick coating of the toasting surfaces

■ Insert the plug into a mains socket.
■ Close the appliance and lock it with the lid catch

■ Turn the browning control
■ Allow the appliance to heat up for about 10 minutes.
NOTE
► During first use, you may notice a slight smell (there may also be minimal
smoke). This is normal and dissipates after a short time. Ensure sufficient
ventilation. For example, open a window.
■ Turn the browning control
■ Disconnect the plug and allow the appliance to cool down.
■ Clean the appliance as described in the section "Cleaning".
The appliance is now ready for use.
