Installation in the DSR-1600/1600P/1600A/1600AP

Caution
If this option is installed incorrectly, personal injury or damage to
peripheral items may occur due to fire, shock, or other accidental
circumstances. To avoid such risks, consult your Sony dealer or a Sony
service representative for installation.
To install the DSBK-1820 in the DSR-1800/1800P/1800A/1800AP or
DSR-1600/1600P/1600A/1600AP, proceed as follows.
Note
Installing the DSBK-1820 requires an upgrade of the DSR-1800/1800P/
1800A/1800AP or DSR-1600/1600P/1600A/1600AP main unit
firmware. For details, contact your Sony dealer or a Sony service
representative.
Before installing the DSBK-1820 in the DSR-1600/1600P/1600A/
1600AP, the following parts must be removed.
• AES/EBU input connector
• SDI input connector
• Outer BNC connector on the HD SDI connector panel
Removal procedure is as follows:

Remove the four harnesses (for SDI input connector and AES/EBU
input connector) from the SDI-93 board (see following figure 1).
Loosen the screws and remove the three connector panels (see
following figure 2).
Note
Keep the connector panels and screws carefully, to avoid loss.
