Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Anschluss an einen IBM-kompatiblen PC mit PS/2- oder USB-Schnittstelle vorgesehen
und dient dort z.B. zur Bedienung des Betriebssystems.

Anschluss
Anschluss an USB-Port
Schieben Sie den USB-Stecker der Maus in einen USB-Port Ihres PCs. Besitzen Sie z.B. einen USB-Hub,
können Sie die Maus auch dort anstecken. Der PC braucht dabei nicht ausgeschaltet werden (gilt nur
speziell bei USB-Geräten!).
Anschluss an PS/2-Mausport
Bevor Sie die Maus mit dem USB-PS/2-Adapter an den PC anschließen, schalten Sie Ihren PC
aus und trennen Sie ihn von der Netzspannung, ziehen Sie den Netzstecker!
Gleiches gilt, wenn Sie die Maus abstecken wollen.
Wird die Maus während dem Betrieb des PCs an- oder abgesteckt, so kann sowohl die Maus als
auch das Motherboard des PCs beschädigt werden.
Der mitgelieferte USB-PS/2-Adapter darf nur in Verbindung mit der mitgelieferten Maus ver-
wendet werden! Beim Anschluss anderer Geräte an den Adapter wird sowohl der Adapter als
auch das daran angeschlossene Gerät beschädigt!
Verbinden Sie den USB-Stecker der Maus über den mitgelieferten USB-PS/2-Adapter mit dem PS/2-
Mausport Ihres PCs.
Verbinden Sie den PC wieder mit der Netzspannung und schalten Sie ihn ein.
Treiber-Installation
Zum einwandfreien Betrieb über den USB-Port ist mindestens Windows 98 nötig. Es gibt zwar auch eine
Windows 95-Version, auf deren CD steht "...mit USB-Unterstützung", diese ist aber nicht in der Lage, den
Betrieb der Maus über USB sicherzustellen. Verwenden Sie für ältere Windows-Versionen oder DOS den
PS/2-Anschluss.
Bei Anschluss an USB-Port
Windows erkennt das Gerät automatisch. Folgen Sie allen Anweisungen von Windows. Die nötigen
Treiber-Dateien sind in Windows enthalten.
Bei Anschluss an PS/2-Mausport
Zum Betrieb unter Windows 9x/ME sind keine Treiber nötig, die Maus wird automatisch erkannt. Die
nötigen Treiber-Dateien sind in Windows enthalten.
Software-Installation
Die mitgelieferte Software ist zum Betrieb eigentlich nicht erforderlich.
Sie können mit ihr jedoch z.B. die Belegung der mittleren Maustaste (Tastfunktion des Rollrades) wählen
(z.B. Doppelklick-Funktion o.ä.).
Falls Sie diese Funktionen nutzen wollen, so starten Sie das Installationsprogramm "Setup.exe" auf der
Diskette und folgen Sie allen Anweisungen.
Danach ist in der Regel ein Neustart von Windows 9x/ME nötig.
Reinigung
Die optische Bewegungserkennung über den eingebauten Sensor vermeidet Probleme mit
Schmutzablagerungen auf Mauskugel und Antriebsrollen, die bei herkömmlichen Mäusen auftreten.
Trotzdem sollten Sie gelegentlich den Sensor auf der Unterseite der Maus kontrollieren, ob sich
Staubpartikel angesammelt haben. Diese könnten zu einer schlechteren Bewegungserkennung führen.
Reinigen Sie den Sensor z.B. mit einem feinen, trockenen und sauberen Pinsel.
Tipps und Hinweise
Bei Anschluss an USB-Port
• Wenn Ihr Computer mehrere USB-Schnittstellen hat, so ist es unerheblich, in welchen die Maus einge-
steckt wird.
Wird die Maus abgesteckt (z.B. wenn der PC transportiert wird), so sollten Sie sie später wieder an den
gleichen USB-Port anstecken, da ansonsten evtl. die Treiberinstallation nochmals nötig ist.
• Falls die Maus an einem USB-Hub nicht funktioniert, stecken Sie sie versuchsweise direkt an einen
USB-Port Ihres PCs an.
• Falls die USB-Maus als Ersatz für eine herkömmliche RS232- oder PS/2-Maus dienen soll, so beachten
Sie bitte, dass im abgesicherten Modus von Windows 98/ME keine USB-Unterstützung besteht.
Das bedeutet, dass kein Mauszeiger erscheint und die Bedienung des Betriebssystems ausschliesslich
per Tastatur erfolgen muss!

Bei Anschluss an PS/2-Port (über mitgelieferten Adapter)
• Der mitgelieferte USB-PS/2-Adapter darf nur in Verbindung mit der mitgelieferten Maus verwendet wer-
den, nicht für andere USB-Geräte!
• Vor dem An- oder Abstecken von PS/2-Geräten an den PC ist der PC auszuschalten und von der
Netzspannung zu trennen.
• Wenn Ihr PC mehrere PS/2-Schnittstellen hat, so beachten Sie das Handbuch zu Ihrem PC bzw. zu dem
Motherboard, welche der PS/2-Schnittstellen für eine Maus geeignet ist.
• Hatten Sie bisher nur eine RS232-Maus an Ihrem PC, so muss bei älteren PCs evtl. vor der
Inbetriebnahme im BIOS/Setup des PCs die PS/2-Schnittstelle eingeschaltet/aktiviert werden.
• Bei Notebooks ist der Parallelbetrieb eines bereits im Notebook vorhandenen Steuergeräts (z.B.
Touchpad) und einer PS/2-Maus evtl. nicht möglich.
Schalten Sie dann das interne Steuergerät des Notebooks im BIOS/Setup des Notebooks aus.
Ausserdem besteht die Möglichkeit, dass nach der Installation der mitgelieferten Software das interne
Steuergerät nicht mehr korrekt funktioniert.
Deinstallieren Sie dann die Software bzw. installieren Sie sie erst nach einem Backup Ihres Systems.

Prescribed Use
The product is intended for being connected to an IBM-compatible PC with PS/2 or USB interface and ser-
ves to operate the operating system.

Features

Connection
Connection to USB port
Connect the USB plug of the mouse to an USB port of your PC. If you possess e.g. an USB hub, you can
also connect the mouse to this hub. In this case, it is not necessary to switch off the PC (only valid for
USB devices!).
Connection to PS/2 mouse port
Before connecting the mouse to your PC with the USB-PS/2 adapter, please switch off your PC
and separate it from the mains voltage. Unplug the mains plug!
Do the same when disconnecting the mouse.
If the mouse is connected or disconnected during PC operation, both the mouse and the PC mot-
her board might be damaged.
Use the enclosed USB-PS/2 adapter only with the enclosed mouse! Connecting other devices to
the adapter involves damages of both the adapter and the connected device!
Connect the USB plug of the mouse with the PS/2 mouse port of your PC by means of the enclosed USB-
PS/2 adapter.
Connect your PC to the mains voltage and switch it on again.
Driver Installation
For perfect operation, you need at least Windows 98. There also is a Windows 95 version with its CD mar-
ked "...supporting USB", but this version does not guarantee perfect operation.
For older Windows versions or DOS, please use the PS/2 port.
Connection to USB port
Windows automatically recognizes the device. Follow all Windows instructions. The necessary driver
files are contained in Windows.
Connection to PS/2 mouse port
The operation with Windows 9x/ME does not require any drivers. The mouse is recognized automati-
cally. The necessary driver files are contained in Windows.
Software Installation
Normally, operation does not require the enclosed software.
However, with this software you can select e.g. the function of the middle mouse key (function of the scroll
wheel),e.g. double-click function.
If you would like to use these functions, please start the installation program "Setup.exe" on the disk and
follow the instructions.
In most cases, you have to restart Windows 9x/ME afterwards.
Cleaning
Because of the optical motion recognition via the integrated sensor, there are no problems resulting from
dirt on the mouse ball and the rollers as they occur with conventional mice.
However, you should check the bottom of the mouse for dust particles. These dust particles might affect the
motion recognition.
Please clean the sensor e.g. with a fine, dry and clean brush.
Tips and Notes
Connection to USB port
• If your PC is equipped with several USB interfaces, it does not matter to which one you connect the mouse.
When disconnecting the mouse (e.g. when the PC is transported), you should connect the mouse to the
same USB port afterwards to avoid a new driver installation.
• If the mouse does not work on a USB hub, please try to connect it directly to a USB port of your PC.
• If the mouse is meant to replace a conventional RS232 or PS/2 mouse, please observe that the secu-
red mode of Windows 98/ME does not support USB. This means that no mouse indicator appears on the
screen and that you have to operate the operating system via keyboard only.
Moreover, the mouse does not work with DOS.
Connection to PS/2 port (via enclosed adapter)
• Use the enclosed USB-PS/2 adapter with the enclosed mouse only. Never use it with other USB devi-
ces!

• Before connecting or disconnecting PS/2 devices to a PC, please switch off the PC and separate it from
the mains voltage.

• If your PC is equipped with several PS/2 interfaces, please observe the manual of your PC or of the mot-
her board to know which one of the PS/2 interfaces is suitable for a mouse.
• f you had only a RS232 mousel on your PC so far, it might be necessary for older PCs to switch on/acti-
vate the PS/2 interface in the BIOS/set-up of your PC before commissioning your mouse.
• With notebook computers, the parallel operation of a controlling device already integrated in the note-
book (e.g. a touchpad) and a PS/2 mouse might not be possible.
In this case, please switch off the internal controlling device of the notebook in its BIOS/set-up.
Moreover, it is possible that after installation of the enclosed software, the internal controlling device is
malfunctioning. In this case, deinstall the software or only install it after a back-up of your system.
