Problems with cordless DECT phones

If you are using a cordless DECT phone reception problems can sometimes occur. F.e. on
Astra 1 in some cases the German TV channels SAT1, ProSieben, KABEL1, NEUN LIVE
Television, TELE 5, DSF, N24 and Home Shopping Europe will show unreliable reception.
DECT phones are using a frequency range that overlaps with the intermediate frequency
range that is used by LNBs to transmit the satellite signal to the receiver.
If you encounter these problems,
– make sure that the antenna cables are properly shielded along the whole signal
route,
– position the DECT base station as far away from the receiver or then antenna cable
as possible.
