Steckdosenleiste
Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Diese Steckdosenleiste ist speziell für den Ein-
bau in ein Rack (482 mm/19") konzipiert und
dient zur Verteilung der Netzspannung auf bis zu
acht in einem Rack eingesetzte Geräte. Die Lei-
stungsaufnahme eines einzelnen Gerätes darf
1380 VA (6 A) nicht überschreiten und die Lei-
stungsaufnahme aller Geräte zusammen nicht
3680 VA (16 A).
Das Modell MCS-18 ist mit acht Schukosteck-
dosen ausgestattet und das Modell MCS-28 mit
acht Kaltgerätebuchsen. Jede Steckdose läßt
sich einzeln über einen Leucht-Kippschalter auf
der Frontseite ein- und ausschalten.
Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Dieses Gerät entspricht der Niederspannungs-
richtlinie 73/23/EWG.
Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher Netz-
spannung (230 V~) versorgt. Nehmen Sie
deshalb niemals selbst Eingriffe im Gerät vor.
Durch unsachgemäßes Vorgehen besteht die
Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlages. Außer-
dem erlischt beim Öffnen des Gerätes jeg-
licher Garantieanspruch.
Beachten Sie auch unbedingt die folgenden
Punkte:
Verwenden Sie das Gerät nur im Innenbe-
reich. Schützen Sie es vor Feuchtigkeit und
Hitze (zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich
0 – 40 °C).

Applications
This socket rail is especially designed for the
installation into a rack (482 mm/19") and serves
for distributing the mains voltage to up to eight
units placed into a rack. The power consumption
of each unit must not exceed 1380 VA (6 A), and
the total power consumption of all units must not
exceed 3680 VA (16 A).
Model MCS-18 is equipped with 8 sockets pro-
vided with earthing contact (Schuko) and model
MCS-28 with eight cold appliance jacks. Each
socket can individually be switched on and off via
an illuminated toggle switch on the front panel.
Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to the low voltage directive
73/23/CEE for electromagnetic compatibility.
The power supply unit uses lethal mains volt-
age (230 V~). In order to prevent a shock
hazard, do not open it. Leave servicing to
authorized, skilled personnel only. Further-
more, any guarantee claim expires if the unit
has been opened.
It is necessary to observe in any case the fol-
lowing items:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect
it against humidity and heat (admissible
ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not set the unit into operation, or imme-
diately disconnect the mains plug from the
mains socket if:
1. damage can be seen at the unit or mains
cable,

Nehmen Sie das Gerät nicht in Betrieb, bzw.
ziehen Sie sofort den Netzstecker aus der
Steckdose, wenn:
1. sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder an der
Netzanschlußleitung vorhanden sind,
2. nach einem Sturz oder ähnlichem der Ver-
dacht auf einen Defekt besteht,
3. Funktionsstörungen auftreten.
Geben Sie das Gerät in jedem Fall zur Repa-
ratur in eine Fachwerkstatt.
Eine beschädigte Netzanschlußleitung darf
nur durch den Hersteller oder eine autorisierte
Fachwerkstatt ersetzt werden.
Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker nie an der Zulei-
tung aus der Steckdose.
Verwenden Sie für die Reinigung nur ein
trockenes, weiches Tuch, auf keinen Fall
Chemikalien oder Wasser.
Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet, falsch
angeschlossen, überlastet oder nicht fachge-
recht repariert, kann für eventuelle Schäden
keine Haftung übernommen werden.
Soll das Gerät endgültig aus dem Betrieb
genommen werden, übergeben Sie es zur
Entsorgung einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.
Inbetriebnahme
1) Die Steckdosenleiste in ein Rack einsetzen.
Es wird eine Einbauhöhe von 2 HE benötigt
(HE = Höheneinheit = 44,5 mm).
2) Die im Rack eingesetzten Geräte an die
Steckdosen bzw. an die Kaltgerätebuchsen
anschließen.

The unit must in any case be repaired by
authorized personnel.
A damaged mains cable must only be replaced
by the manufacturer or authorized personnel.
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains
socket by means of the mains cable.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth. Do not
use any chemicals or water.
If the unit is used for purposes other than orig-
inally intended, if it is not connected correctly,
overloaded, or not repaired in a qualified way,
there is no liability for possible damage.
If the unit is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, it must be disposed of in a local re-
cycling plant.

The wires in this mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead
of this appliance may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in
your plug, proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yel-
low must be connected to the terminal in
the plug which is marked with the letter E or
by the earth symbol
or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be
connected to the terminal which is marked

Jedes Gerät darf eine Leistung von maximal
1380 VA (6 A) aufnehmen. Bei einer höheren
Leistungsaufnahme wird die Steckdosen-
leiste überlastet und beschädigt.
Achten Sie auch darauf, daß die Leistungs-
aufnahme aller angeschlossenen Geräte
3680 VA (16 A) nicht überschreitet. Anderen-
falls wird die Sicherung des verwendeten
230-V-Stromkreises ausgelöst.
3) Die Steckdosenleiste an eine Steckdose
(230 V~/50 Hz) anschließen.
4) Mit den Schaltern auf der Frontseite die
benötigten Steckdosen einschalten.

Warning – This appliance must be earthed.
Setting into Operation
1) Place the socket rail into a rack. An installa-
tion height of 2 rack spaces (1 rack space =
44.5 mm) is required.
2) Connect the units placed into the rack to the
sockets or to the cold appliance jacks.
The power consumption of each unit must not
exceed 1380 VA (6 A). In case of higher power
consumption the socket rail will be overloaded
and damaged.
Take also care that the power consumption of
all connected units does not exceed 3680 VA
(16 A). Otherwise the fuse of the 230 V circuit
used responds.
3) Connect the socket rail to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz).
4) Switch on the required sockets with the
switches on the front panel.
