(SM_GLAS, SMII_GLAS, SM64_GLAS)
Product description
The glas breakage sensor SMXX_GLAS is
designed for monitoring windows and glass
cabinets related to the
SENSORMANAGER, SITEMANAGER II or
SITEMONITOR II.
The SMXX_Glas is based on a piezoelectic
component which is adjusted to the
frequencys of glas breakage. The sensor is
supplied with power (12V) from the
SITEMANAGER, SITEMONITOR or
SENSORMANAGER and transmits the
alarmsignal by a dry NC-contact interface.
In case of glas breakage, the SMXX_GLAS indicates the alarm by flashing its red LED. A
temporary interruption of the power supply (approx. 2 sec.) resets the sensor to normal
operating mode. The sensor can be used on insulating glas with a thickness of 3 – 8 mm
(Floadglas). The maximum radius of monitoring is 2 meters.

The installation of the
SMXX_GLAS has to be in a
distance between 20mm and
50mm from the window
frame on the clean inside
glass. Glue the sensor on
the cleaned glass surface
with a two-component glue.
Mind the instructions of
handling included to your
two-component glue.
Please make sure, that it is
recognizable visually when
the sensor is removed from
the window. Make the cable
laying always bottom-up or
horizontal.

Mind during the installation of the sensor on windows (or doors), that the cable is layed in
direction of the center of rotation. Please mind also, that the cable will not be
mechanically stressed or squeezed.
Connection to the SITEMANAGER, SITEMONITOR, SENSORMANAGER
The connection of the SMII_GLAS and SM64_Glas to the SITEMANAGER resp.
SITEMONITOR is to be done by the open sockets at the digital inputs.
The connection of the SM_GLAS to the SENSORMANAGER is to be done by the RJ12-
connector.
For informations about the configuration and control of the events in case of an glas
breakage alarm, please follow the manuals included to your facility management device.
