Installation instruction for capacitors
The IPCs (Intelligent Power Caps) from BRAX are an impressive
example of what can be achieved in high powered car audio sys-
tems with the combination of exceptionally high capacities and
smart electronics. From the most subtle voltage fluctuations to the
extreme loading peaks that result from low bass tones, the Intelli-
gent Power Caps efficiently compensate for every power variable.
The result of the BRAX IPCs are improved amplifier performance and
a superior sound quality.
General information
Install your BRAX IPC in a dry location and ensure that it is not appre-
ciably warmed up by other components close to it. Mount the capa-
citor as close as possible to the amplifier/s (max. distance 30 cm) to
reduce voltage losses in the cable harness. We recommend to install
a fuse with a maximum distance of 30 cm to the positive (+) terminal
of the battery. Thanks to the automatic turn-on function it is not nec-
essary to charge the IPC before the first initial operation.
Installation
At first, the negative (-) terminal must be connected with the car chas-
sis ground. Afterwards connect the posi tive (+) wire to the positive (+)
terminal of the capacitor (see fig. 1).
Notice: The red and green LED located aside of the digital display
are integrated as a connection control. When wired incorrectly the

red LED lits. The green LED lights up after a correct connection and
turns off after loading. During operation the green LED is off.

Notice: If your car audio system requires a higher capacitance you
can install two or more capacitors in parallel. In this case you must
connect the positive (+) terminals of all caps in a row and proceed the
same way with all negative (-) terminals (see fig. 1).

can also be operated via a remote link. Just connect the remote wire
to the remote connector (see fig. 2).

Integrated digital power display and power tester
With the IPC´s digital power display it´s very easy to check whether
your car audio system is receiving sufficient power.

The integrated power tester is useful to determine voltage fluctua-
tions easily. If the voltage supply is stable all LEDs are lighted up. In
case of high voltage fluctuations the LEDs turn off from green to red.
