EDS474-12 / EDS474E-12
Isolationsfehler-Auswertegerät
Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Isolationsfehler-Auswertegerät wird in Verbindung mit ei-
nem Prüfgerät PGH474 und Messstromwandlern der Baureihen
W.../8000 und WS.../8000 zur Lokalisierung von Isolationsfehlern
in IT-Systemen eingesetzt.
IT-Systems. Verbessert sich der Isolationswiderstand, so dass kein
Alarm mehr vorliegt, wird die Isolationsfehlersuche gestoppt.

Insulation fault evaluator
Deutsch
Intended use
The insulation fault evaluator in combination with the test device
PGH474 and measuring current transformers (CTs) of the W.../
8000 and WS.../8000 series is suitable for automatic insulation
fault location in IT systems of AC 20-265 V or DC 20-308 V..
up to 12 CTs can be connected to each EDS474-12
data communication via BMS bus
indication of faulty subcircuits
CT connection monitoring
In combination with a TM operator panel up to
29 EDS474-12 (348 measuring current transformers)
+ 30 EDS474E-12 (360 measuring current transformers)
= 708 measuring current transformers can be controlled within
one internal BMS bus system.
This document describes EDS474-12/EDS474E-12 with integra-
ted software version 2.3 or higher.
Safety information
Installation, connection and commissioning of electrical equip-
ment shall only be carried out by qualified electricians:
Particular attention shall be paid to:
the current safety regulations and
the enclosed sheet "Important safety instructions for
BENDER products".
Function
When an insulation fault is detected by the ISOMETER®, the
PGH474 starts the insulation fault location process. In a given
time pattern which is synchronized with the test cycle of the
PGH474, the EDS474 subsequently evaluates the signals from all
measuring current transformers. If the fault current detected by a
measuring current transformer exceeds the response value, the
respective LED „k1 ... k12" and the LED „ALARM" light up and the
alarm relay switches.
During the evaluation of each measuring current transformer the
ISOMETER® monitors the insulation resistance of the IT system. As
soon as the insulation resistance value improves so that an alarm
is no longer present insulation fault location is stopped
