Productbeschrijving en toepassing
De DC/DC converter vormt een gelijkspanning (accu) om naar een andere gelijkspanning.
Waarschuwing
Onjuist aansluiten kan de converter beschadigen. De levensduur van de converter wordt verkort door
overbelasting en/of hoge omgevingstemperatuur voor langere tijd.
De converter is beveiligd tegen kortsluiting door middel van een ingangszekering. Gebruik geen
zwaardere zekeringen dan op de converter staat aangegeven.
In de converter komen hoge spanningen voor, daarom mag de behuizing nooit geopend worden.
Reparaties en onderhoud mogen uitsluitend worden uitgevoerd door gekwalificeerde personen die zich
ter ondersteuning in verbinding kunnen stellen met de vertegenwoordiging van de producent.
Aansluiten
Controleer voor aansluiten of de accuspanning overeenkomt met de ingangsspanning van de converter
(bijv. een 24V accu bij een ingangsspanning van 24V). Controleer tevens of de uitgangsspanning
geschikt is voor de aan te sluiten belasting.
Sluit eerst de negatieve accupool en daarna de positieve accupool aan op de ingang van de omvormer.
Sluit daarna de belasting aan op de uitgang van de converter.
De accuspanning kan gevaarlijk zijn. Ga bij de installatie van de converter voorzichtig en aandachtig te
werk. Vermijd kortsluitingen. Spanningen hoger dan 34V kunnen gevaarlijk zijn.
Om mogelijke interferentie en spanningsval in de kabels te voorkomen dienen zowel de ingangskabels
als de uitgangskabels parallel te worden aangelegd en zo kort mogelijk te zijn. (De aanbevolen
minimale kabeldoorsnede bedraagt 2.5 mm².)

Montage
Bij grote belasting zal de converter veel warmte afgeven. Daarom dient de converter in een koele en
goed geventileerde ruimte geïnstalleerd te worden. Plaats de converter niet in een vochtige omgeving
De converter type 8862 dient op een vlakke metalen ondergrond (chassis) te worden gemonteerd zodat
de converter zo koel mogelijk blijft.
Om ontlading van de accu te voorkomen dient de converter van de accu losgekoppeld te worden indien
deze niet gebruikt wordt.

Veiligheidsvoorschriften en - maatregelen
1. Installeer de converter volgens de aangegeven instructies.
2. Gebruik de converter nooit op een locatie met gas of stofontploffingsgevaar.
3. Aansluitingen en beveiligingen moeten overeenkomstig de plaatselijk geldende voorschriften worden
uitgevoerd.
Garantiebepalingen
Mastervolt garandeert dat de converter is gebouwd volgens de wettelijk van toepassing zijnde normen
en bepalingen. Gedurende de productie en voor aflevering zijn alle converters uitvoering getest en
gecontroleerd. Wanneer niet volgens de in deze handleiding gegeven voorschriften, aanwijzingen en
bepalingen wordt gehandeld, kunnen beschadigingen ontstaan en/of het apparaat zal niet aan de
specificaties voldoen. Een en ander kan inhouden dat de garantie komt te vervallen.
De garantie termijn is 2 jaar
Aansprakelijkheid
Mastervolt kan niet aansprakelijk worden gesteld voor:
• Schade ontstaan door het gebruik van de acculader.
• Eventuele fouten in bijbehorende handleiding en de gevolgen daarvan.
• Ander gebruik geldend als niet conform de bestemming van het product.

Product description and application
The converter converts a DC voltage (battery) to another DC voltage.
Warning
Incorrect connection can damage the converter. The converter's durability will be reduced if it is used in
an overloaded state and/or under ambient temperatures which are too high for long periods.
The converter is protected against short circuiting with an input fuse. Do not use fuses larger than those
indicated on the converter.
The converter contains dangerous voltages and the cover should not be removed. All service or
maintenance work should be carried out by qualified personnel who can get assistance by contacting
the manufacturer's agent.
Connection
Before connection, check that the battery voltage is the same as the converter's input voltage (e.g. 24V
battery for a 24V input voltage). Also check that the output voltage satisfies loading requirements.
First connect the battery's negative pole and then the battery's positive pole to the converter's input.
Finally, connect the load to the converter's output.
The battery voltage can be dangerous. Use caution and pay careful attention when installing the
converter. Avoid short circuiting. Voltages above 34 V can be dangerous.
To minimise any interference and reduce voltage drop in the cables, the cables for both input and output
should be laid in parallel and be as short as possible. (Recommended minimum cross sectional area for
the cable is 2.5 mm².)

Placement
At heavy load, the converter will dissipate a lot of heat. It should therefore be sited in a cool and well-
ventilated place. Do not site the converter in a moist place. The linear converters should be mounted
onto the chassis of a motor vehicle to keep the unit as cool as possible.
To avoid discharging the battery, the converter should be disconnected from the battery when it is not in
use.

Safety regulations and measures
1. Install the converter according to the stated instructions.
2. Never use converters at a location where there is danger of gas or dust explosions.
3. Connections and safety features must be executed according to the locally applicable regulations.
Guarantee terms
Mastervolt guarantees that this converter was built according to the legally applicable standards and
stipulations. During production and before delivery all converters were exhaustively tested and
controlled. If you fail to act in accordance with the regulations, instructions and stipulations in this user's
manual, damage can occur and/or the unit will not fulfil the specifications. This may mean that the
guarantee will become null and void.
The guarantee period is 2 years.
Liability
Mastervolt cannot be held liable for:
• Damage resulting from the use of the converter.
• Possible errors in the included manual and the consequences of these.
• Use that is inconsistent with the purpose of the product.
