When using the Philips Respironics E30 Ventilator with Heated Humidifier, the following updates
apply to the DreamStation Heated Humidifer User Manual.
Important! Refer to the DreamStation Heated Humidifier User Manual for complete instructions and
additional warnings and cautions.
Warning: The DreamStation Heated Humidifier is not for use with intubated patients. For intubated
patients, please use an external humidifier.
Intended Use
The DreamStation Heated Humidifier is an accessory for the Philips Respironics E30 ventilator to
provide moisture to the patient circuit. It is specifically for the care of adult and pediatric patients
>7 years of age and >18kgs. It is intended to be used in the hospital or other institutional healthcare
environments, as well as spaces converted for the care of large numbers of COVID-19 patients (e.g.
convention centers, university dormitories, motels). The device is intended for use by qualified,
trained personnel under the direction of a physician.
Contraindications
If the patient has any of the following conditions, consult their health care professional before using
the device in a non-invasive mode:

Inability to maintain a patent airway or adequately clear secretions
·
At risk for aspiration of gastric contents
·
Diagnosed with acute sinusitis or otitis media
·
Allergy or hypersensitivity to the mask materials where the risk from allergic reaction outweighs
the benefit of ventilatory assistance
·
Epistaxis, causing pulmonary aspiration of blood
·
Hypotension
When assessing the relative risks and benefits of using this equipment, the health care professional
should understand that this device can deliver the pressure ranges indicated in the Control Accuracy
table in the Philips Respironics E30 Ventilator User Manual.
