Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Anschluss an einen USB-Port eines Computers vorgesehen. Dort dient es
als externe Soundkarte; es kann ein Headset mit 3.5mm-Klinkensteckern angeschlossen werden
(Buchse für Kopfhörer und Buchse für Mikrofon vorhanden).
Dieses Produkt erfüllt die gesetzlichen, nationalen und europäischen Anforderungen. Alle ent-
haltenen Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen Inhaber.

Installation der Treiber
Starten Sie Ihren Computer und warten Sie, bis das Betriebssystem vollständig geladen ist.
Schließen Sie danach den USB-Headsetadapter an einen freien USB-Port des Computers an.
Das Betriebssystem erkennt neue Hardware und installiert die Treiber automatisch (im
Betriebssystem enthalten, deshalb liegt kein Datenträger mit Treibern bei).
Wenn Ihr Computer bereits über eine Soundkarte verfügt (z.B. Onboard-Sound des Mainboards),
so kann z.B. bei Windows XP/Vista in der Systemsteuerung zwischen der bisherigen Soundkarte
und dem USB-Headsetadapter umgeschaltet werden.
Anschluss
Verbinden Sie die beiden Stecker des Headsets mit den zugehörigen Buchsen auf dem USB-
Headsetadapter (z.B. Kopfhörer- und Mikrofonsymbol auf den Steckern des Headsets bzw. des
USB-Headsetadapters beachten). Andernfalls funktioniert weder das Mikrofon noch der
Kopfhörer.
Die Lautstärkeeinstellung für den Kopfhörer ist wie gewohnt über die Klangregelung am
Computer (Systemsteuerung) möglich. Gleiches gilt für das Mikrofon.
Die rote LED dient als Power-LED, die grüne LED blinkt bei Audiowiedergabe, um die einwand-
freie Funktion anzuzeigen.
Tipps & Hinweise
• Unter DOS oder im abgesicherten Modus von Windows funktioniert USB nicht (oder nur einge-
schränkt für USB-Tastatur/-Maus). Der USB-Headsetadapter kann hier nicht betrieben werden.
• Wählen Sie ggf. in der Systemsteuerung die richtige Soundkarte aus (interne Soundkarte bzw.
Onboard-Sound bzw. den USB-Headsetadapter).
Nach dem Anstecken des USB-Headsetadapters an den Computer ist dieser normalerweise
automatisch aktiviert und funktionsbereit.
• Der Mikrofoneingang muss möglicherweise erst aktiviert werden. Dies ist z.B. bei Windows XP
sehr einfach in der Systemsteuerung möglich (Systemsteuerung > Sounds und Audiogeräte >
Lautstärke; danach ist im Feld „Gerätelautstärke" auf „Erweitert" zu klicken. Es erscheint die
Lautstärkeregelung (ggf. auch über das Lautsprechersymbol in der Menüleiste aktivierbar).
Klicken Sie dann auf „Optionen", „Eigenschaften" und „Aufnahme".
Kontrollieren Sie, ob ein Häkchen bei „Mikrofon" gesetzt ist und klicken Sie auf „OK". Nun können
Sie beim Mikrofoneingang das Häkchen bei „Auswählen" setzen und die Mikrofonlautstärke bzw.
den Aufnahmepegel einstellen.
Mit dem bei Windows integrierten Audiorecorder (z.B. bei Windows XP unter Start >
Programme > Zubehör > Unterhaltungsmedien > Audiorecorder) können einfache
Aufnahmeversuche gemacht werden, um den Mikrofonpegel richtig einzustellen bzw. um zu
überprüfen, ob die Einstellungen in der Systemsteuerung richtig vorgenommen worden sind.
Bei Windows Vista funktioniert dies ähnlich.

Intended Use
The product is designed to be connected to a USB port on a computer. It functions as an external
sound card; a headset with 3.5mm jack plugs can be connected to it (sockets for headphones and
microphone available).

Installation of the driver
Switch your computer on, and wait until the operating system is completely booted.
Connect the USB Headset adapter to a free USB port on the computer. The operating system
recognizes the new hardware, and installs the driver automatically (contained in the operating
system; therefore, no data carrier is included).
If your computer has already a sound card (e.g. Onboard Sound on the Motherboard), you can
switch between the installed sound card and the USB Headset adapter, e.g. in Windows XP/Vista
in the control panel.
Connection
Connect the headset's two connectors to the corresponding sockets on the USB headset adapter
(e.g. note the headphones and microphone symbols on the headset's plugs and the sockets of the
USB headset adapter). Otherwise, neither the microphone, nor the headphones will function.
Volume control of the headphones is possible, as usual, via the volume control on the computer
(control panel). The same applies to the microphone.
The red LED is the power LED, the green LED flashes during audio reproduction, to indicate cor-
rect functioning.
Tips & Notes
• USB does not function when DOS or Windows are in safe mode (or only restricted to USB key-
board/mouse). In such a case, the USB Headset adapter can not be used.
• Select the correct sound card from the control panel, if necessary (internal sound card or onboard
sound or the USB headset adapter).
After connecting the USB headset adapter to the computer, it normally activates automatically
and is ready for use.
• It may be possible that the microphone input has to be activated first. To do this in Windows
XP, go to the control panel (control panel > sounds and audio devices > volume, then in the
field „hardware volume" click on „upgrade" The volume adjustment appears (it is necessary
activate it via the volume symbol in the menu bar). Click on „Options" „Properties" and
„Recording".
Check if a tick is placed besides „Microphone" and click on „OK". You can now choose „Select",
besides microphone entry, and adjust the microphone volume or the volume of the recording.
With the sound recorder integrated in Windows (e.g. in Windows XP at Start>All
Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder) you can test the sound recording, to
adjust the microphone recording level or check if the system settings are correct.
The procedure is quite similar in Windows Vista.
